Our last night of our honeymoon at Couples Tower Isle Ocho Rios before moving on to Negril tomorrow. In terms of a recommendation I would say this: This resort is exclusively for couples, hetro and the occasional same sex. Everyone is treated the same and that is like kings and queens. It is a small resort that has everything you could possibly want as long as you’re ready for bed by 11pm. This hotel includes everything, including tours. The Dunns River guided tour and the Catamaran tour were no extra cost. All the water sports are included as are the a la carte restaurants. Coctails lists are extensive and drink quality is very good. Food in general is some of the best I have ever tasted. The buffet is not a buffet in the evenings it is a hybrid so your main course is from a menu. You can get food 24 hours a day. The au naturale island is amazing and I have total tan envy of those who are over there every day! Generally it is the older generations over there, most were talking about their grand kids and great grand kids and most were American. The staff here are the most amazing people I have ever met. Your safety and happiness is their no 1 priority and the jokes are flowing as much as the rum! Not really ready to leave but excited for our next stop! Read less

The holiday was like two halves. The 1st week we had 5*treatment and everything was perfect. Food was exceptionally good quality and the staff were always happy and joking. The 2nd, something changed, and most guests noticed it (including returning guests). Different staff and many of them kurt and uncaring, mostly in the patio restaurant at night. There was little or no explanation about gala meals on the Patio and how special they were. We missed both due to lack of information. The entertainment was odd. Nothing to do when it rained. It rained a lot and there really wasn't any thing happening. No quizzes or indoor games. Evening... We'd sit down to eat around 6.30 to 7pm and the house bands / singers would start during our meal. Some of the entertainment team would do a competition during the meal.... And expect you to stop eating to join in. It was very bizzare. The guest bands often played to empty chairs, due to others eating in the veranda or 8 rivers. Those guests missed the best shows, yet could hear it all when fine dining. So there was no encouragement to get up and dance as this show finished by 9ish. The option then was the piano lounge for a pianist that plays the same songs night after night. The karaoke nights (twice a week) was much more entertaining. The beach was constantly cleaned buy all the lovely staff who worked down there. Kerry was constantly cleaning the main pool area, chairs and jacuzzis. Nice chap. The Gym was very well equipped and the pools were good for swimming. The sunbed cushions double up as a lilo. So you can float on water sunning in between the showers. The dive centre was professional and efficient. At 1st I found the people a bit offish but once I got to know them, they were quite a chilled bunch who were very helpful. Micheal, the captain and his daily deckhand "A" were spot on. The boats and all the equipment was constantly washed and checked. The dive masters and instructors were very knowledgeable and experienced especially Anju . I always felt safe. Nothing was too much trouble. The Bars - The cocktail menu was enormous. Shame that the staff didn't have the fresh ingredients to produce them, so what you got was hit and miss. Eight River and The Veranda restaurants ... The best service by far. The menus changed regularly. If you don't like spicy food, be warned. You must always check. The presentation of food, in all the restaurants, was 1st Class. We ate at Bayside but ended up on the menu for all the insects that live in the jungle, on route. Rooms We stayed the west side of the building overlooking the beach next door. The prettiest sunsets were experienced from there and warm afternoons on the very large balcony, not overlooked. The room was large, great AC. The bed was huge and not easy to climb onto, when short! There is lots of storage and no fee for the safe. Your mini bar is constantly topped up and room service is great. You'll find a fully equipped bathroom with shower gel, shampoo and body lotions provided. Plenty of soft towels and a robe each. The hairdryer was powerful. There was an iron and board each room in the wardrobe. The maids were like family and cleaned daily to a high standard. So friendly. The front desk staff were helpful as were the bell boys. Yet the two desks for booking restaurants and the catamaran, where less than friendly. It's a "couples" resort with only one chair at each desk. You feel a burden when asking anything there. The excursions desk did not list prices. We found that odd. We arranged trips via other drivers which were half the prices we found from this desk. Pay per taxi not per person. There is an ATM in the games room. The counter, in the lobby, that looks like a bank clerks desk is empty. It's not functional. You can exchange J$s at the front desk at times. BRING LOTS OF INSECT REPELLENT! No one escaped the bites. The island isnt accessible after 9am if you want to keep your clothes on. Shame it's not open to all guests one day a week. You can pop over at 8.30 am to take some photos of this little spot. It's a fabulous resort and had the 2nd week not have been so drastically different and the evenings more entertaining and less repetitive of the 1st, we'd have booked again, but we are now unsure which week was true to form... Were we just unlucky the staff changed week 2? Read less

The resort itself is a little dated, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an adults all inclusive getaway in beautiful Jamaica! Another relaxing stay at CTI and our room came with the best view of the resort ( in my opinion) :-) A shout out to the Silver birds steel drum entertainment - absolutely amazing as ever - a must for any guest to watch Eight rivers still a lovely experience too. The majority of staff work very hard and a shout out to Antroy, trainee bar tender - worked so hard everyday. A few areas need some attention though and would just like to comment on in the hope they will be reviewed by the management team to help keep the standards high : The fire alarm went off at least 7 times at 5am throughout our 14 night stay, which was a major concern as after the first time you tend to ignore it which means that if there was a real fire then it could be a disaster if ignored - I did raise this with the front desk. There was something dead & fury on a stairwell in our block which wasn’t cleaned up for at least 3 days . ( 3’s block ) There isn’t a full buffet in any of the restaurants in the evening which does reduce the options if you have reduced dietary requirements and the other dining options don’t have any choices for you on their menus . This happened to me one night so I thought that the semi - buffet a la carte ( confusing ) would be the option but even there, the pizza choice only had a meat option - a little disappointing. No mango at all throughout stay even though in season - no shrimps on buffet and really missed the corn porridge at breakfast . This option wasn’t available once over our 2 week stay :-( On a really rainy day the gym was closed for maintenance/ deep clean which seemed untimely as it gave guests something to do in the poor weather . I don’t want to dwell on the constructive criticism as we will definitely return but can see that the trajectory of standards seems to be moving in the wrong direction and would like to feedback. Thank you for our lovely holiday Couples !! Read less
