The hotel

The kids will be wowed by the grand castle entry from the minute you pull up at this hotel, and the Disney magic doesn't end there. With a complimentary shuttle - the 'Dream Machine' - running every 30 minutes to Disneyland Resort®, which is actually walkable too, this is the ideal base to visit the crown jewel of California theme parks, and the main man Mickey himself. The themed hotel sits across 13 acres of lush gardens, adding to the castle theme, with cute courtyards and ponds offering that sense of tranquillity - just moments from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks! You can grab a cold drink from the Garden Court Bistro and relax in the outdoor seating area, soak off in the pool, or simply sit amongst the greenery with a good book, because not every minute needs to be 'go, go, go'. Another bonus is the size of the rooms! The largest in the area - giving families ample room to relax after a busy day. With plenty of family friendly dining options, and a games room to boot - this fairytale look hotel is a timeless favourite for all ages.

We travelled from the UK and stayed for two weeks. The good: Where to start! The public spaces were immaculate inside and out. The gardens and pool were very nicely maintained. Our bed was really comfy and the shower has good pressure. The princess theme was a really lovely touch and my wife loved meeting Princess Corrin. All of the eateries were tasty and good value with attentive servers. The staff were really friendly and always happy to help if you went to them with any issues. The shuttle bus service was amazing, especially the friendly drivers and the wheelchair lift fitted to the buses. The buses run an hour before and an hour and fifteen after the parks close which is absolutely amazing! You don't have to pay for housekeeping, as some have suggested, it can be requested for free after every third night. We only requested it once and just nipped to reception when we needed top ups on anything which they were happy to provide. They allow you to use the shuttle on your departure day which is a really generous and they have a spacious baggage room for checkout day. The bad: The room decor is a bit dated but clean and tidy. The walls/windows were a bit thin but nothing a good pair of earplugs can't handle! Overall verdict: I wouldn't hesitate to visit again or recommend this hotel to anyone. We had a wonderful time. While planning our trip I attempted to make a special request for the room (its an inside joke) I wanted a framed photo of Patrick Swayze there when we arrived. NUMEROUS lesser known and less expensive hotels have accommodated this with the items they have on hand while I was staying there. I wasn't asking them to go out of their way to purchase things for this. I had to make 2 phone calls before I was able to speak to someone who could help, and they told me they would have to call me back. They didn't. And they never accommodated our request. My Wife's coworkers called the hotel numerous times and spent hours on the phone with hotel representatives to try and order a catered dinner for us on one of the nights we were staying there. they're a great group of people who were trying to do something nice for us. The hotel staff was unable to accommodate this...unable to take someone's money and deliver food to a room in their own hotel from a restaurant on site. The first morning, I asked for some plastic utensils and a few bowls to eat some cereal from the front desk. Even this simple request was unable to be accommodated. The rooms are spacious and provided everything we needed for our stay (3 nights) while we went to Disneyland. Shuttles were easy. The sink would leak onto the counter if you opened the hot/cold valves too far. the water pressure in the shower was a little aggressive, but we were spending all our time in the parks anyway. I don't understand how a hotel of this caliber can operate on such mediocre service. Quantity over Quality I suppose? Read less

You can hear every concersation, every footstep, every drawer or door opened and closed in the room next to you. Stay somewhere else. Read less

We stayed 3 nights at Anaheim majestic for 2 days at Disneyland in a family suite with castle bunk beds for the kids. Price was outstanding (compared to staying at Disney) and free/convenient shuttle makes it the very next best thing. Booked via Expedia and was given free parking for length of our stay too. Kids absolutely loved the castle bed and room was very spacious. The kids also loved the hotel grounds with the arcade, courtyard/wildlife and pool. Deli on site was convenient also. Only real complaint (similar to others) was the housekeeping or lack thereof- a lot of dust/filth and even leftover toys beneath furniture. I know it is hard to find/keep staff in that department these days but some improvements in that area would make this place quite outstanding! Read less
