Food on-site at Jacks Monterey is great any time of day, and I highly recommend an Old Fashioned with a quinoa salad. Add some chicken. Remarkably tasty for a healthy end to a long day. Portola Hotel and Spa at Monterey Bay is an ideal place to stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable! The location is perfect with easy access to The 17 Mile Drive, Carmel and Point Lobos.

Easy to pull up to in a car, very friendly and helpful valet staff, reception staff were very helpful and even gave us a free bottle of champagne to celebrate our honeymoon. The room was very spacious, modern and tidy and the shower has been the best shower we have had in America so far. The location is a 25 minute walk from cannery row but we just chose to get an Uber which only cost £9 with the tip included! I would definitely recommend staying here. 10/10 recommend for convenience, hospitality, cleanliness, and comfort. Amazing staff, great rooms, efficient elevators, so close to the wharf and cannery row and the ocean.
