Meritage Resort and Spa

Napa, Napa Valley Wine Region

Virgin rating

The hotel

You know you’ve reached wine country when you arrive at Meritage Resort & Spa. On the threshold of Napa Valley, its design may be Tuscan-inspired, but its soul is pure Napa, with views of a grapevine-covered slope as you swim, hiking (or strolling) trails through nine acres of vineyards, an underground tasting room, and wine served at every turn. But it’s also a place that recognises exceptional wine should be paired with life’s other luxuries: separate adult and family pools, al fresco fireplaces and whirlpools, lazy Sunday brunches, and wining and dining venues like award-winning Siena, the Crush bowling lounge, a café-come-gelateria, and a luxury wine bar. But it’s the Estate Cave that promises the most indulgence; 40 ft underground, it hosts a wine tasting room and Spa Terra’s steam grottos and soaking pools.

checkin was slow and only one staff to handle, super long queue. The toilet was stuckced and unable to use. There were many bugs in the room and at the door, there was still food from last customer not yet cleared out

Paying $600 a night to be awoken at 5am due to footsteps from the room above! I wish I complained and asked for a top floor. Considering how isolated the location is, it was annoying to be hear every moment of the guest upstairs. I hope the management responses

This resort was expensive and disappointing, with a dismissive staff that did not care about its guests and a lot of nickel and diming. Despite a $40/day resort fee, it cost $10/day to self park and $25/day to use the spa facilities. This is a low class resort in every way, with rude staff and no views and tons of asphalt around its massive… Read more

Eunice did a fabulous job serving our dinner, entertained us with her smile and recommended wineries in the area. The Meritage resort and spa was very nice and accommodating located just south of Napa, which made it easily accessible to the wineries

Traveling from out of state, the Meritage Resort was recommended to my family and I from a friend. When we arrived, the room we booked was unavailable, so we were offered to upgrade our stay. We upgraded to a 2bdrm suite which accommodated our family nicely. While we waited for our room to be ready, my 3 children and I tried to find seats in a shady area, we were told had to leave because there was a private corporate event. When I tried to buy food for my kids, I was told we had to leave because of a private corporate event. This went on a couple of times, which became very frustrating. We were unable to take a hot shower because our rooms did not have hot water, only if the sink, tub and shower were running all at the same time, did the water turn hot after 15 minutes. Last but not least, I walked into one of the onsite tasting rooms to get information about the tasting and was told, tasting were closed due to a birthday party. When I asked a nearby guest whose birthday it was, I was told there is no birthday. The grounds of the resort were beautiful, the experience with the Meritage Resort was extremely disappointing.
