You might feel like you’ve boarded a luxury cruise ship as you enter this distinctive boutique hotel, perched on the edge of the bay. The Argonaut’s original red brick walls, rich wood beams and ‘deck floors’ help to transport you back to San Francisco’s nautical heyday. At the same time, the plush décor provides all you need to settle in to your charming surrounds. Until, of course, those views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz lure you out to explore all that is Fisherman’s Wharf.

By Fisherman's Wharf, next to the cable car turnaround. Overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. An easy walk from Aquatic Park, Ghirardelli Square and great restaurants. A 12-minute walk to PIER 39.

Fisherman’s Wharf is right outside your door and the cable car is right next-door. It’s an easy walk to North Beach, the Buena Vista, and Ghirardelli Square. The Argonaut is the perfect launching point for so many great San Francisco experiences. Our room was comfortable, clean, and the housekeeping was impeccable. We have had both breakfast and dinner at the Blue Mermaid and were very pleased with our meals. Everyone we encountered at the Argonaut from the front desk staff, to the bellman, to the staff at the Blue Mermaid were professional and cordial. My husband and I are from the East Coast and we feel like the Argonaut is our home away from home when in San Francisco. We are looking forward to our next visit! Read less

I enjoyed several breakfasts at the Blue Mermaid. What impressed me most overall was the attitude of every single member of staff th doorman, maids reception staff and blue mermaid wait staff were all so welcoming. They could not do enough for me and honestly, this hotel made me feel so comfortable and safe and looked after as a single female traveller from the UK. Highly recommend this hotel. Shops/attractions of Fisherman's Wharf are right at your doorstep, the famous Buena Vista and the cable car stop are right around the corner. My room was roomy and comfortable, and since it overlooked the courtyard, was very convenient for darkening the room to sleep after coming in from the East Coast. The onsite restaurant and bar is very nice with great local cuisine and cocktails to try. I also loved the nautical décor throughout the hotel. If visiting San Francisco in the future, I would definitely choose the Argonaut again. Read less

Excellent service, Good food at Blue Mermaid I have stayed here twice. I recommend this to anyone and have reviewed the negative comments and can honestly say most are petty and seem to have an agenda. Checking and checkout v smooth and the rooms were clean and tidy
