The hotel

Get the true Fisherman’s Wharf experience at this fashionable hotel. Hyatt Centric's red-brick design fits in well with its surroundings, and its arched windows frame famous attractions like Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, and The Embarcadero. Step inside and see its exposed brick and industrial accessories, but with a chic ‘seaside hotel’ twist. For a treat, grab your towel and head to the courtyard pool and whirlpool. And why not end the day with a glass of local wine by the fireplace — and maybe a tasty crab and clam chowder?

My company arranged for me to stay at this hotel during a large conference in San Francisco. I have not stayed in many Hyatt's and would not have chosen it for myself, to be honest. It felt far from where I needed to be and there were some negative reviews here that had me worried, so I was extra pleased at the decent condition of the hotel and my room. Very clean, nice amenities (even a great robe...I never use hotel robes because they're usually stiff and uncomfortable), very quiet. The bed was really comfortable, and the room had feather pillows which I almost always have to make special arrangements for at other hotels. There is a Starbucks 2 blocks away, a Walgreens not much further, and plenty of places to eat and drink in easy distance. Even though there was a shuttle service running to the Moscone Center, I enjoyed walking every morning. Yep, nice surprise all in all! I'd stay here again. Read less

Was in town for a conference and had not traveled in a while. The hotel was conveniently located near shops, restaurants and the Fisherman's Wharf! Friendly check in, clean and comfortable room with a view of Coit Tower.

Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel, and I travel regularly for work. The management are hostile scammers that will lie to you to charge you. You might think this wouldn't happen at a chain hotel but the management here is particularly bad, read other reviews to see similar things happening. Rather stay holiday inn across this Hyatt. Staff was great but quality is bad. Room old. Breakfast is terrible.

There was high levels of repeat cash debit transactions taken from my account every day since i checked into hyatt centric. This left myself and my family with zero balance in my account to enjoy our holiday.myself and my family saved for years to bring our 12yr old son to san francisco to visit alcatraz island .this has been a dream for my son for many years and he is also autistic so this was a very difficult situation for him to understand that all our holiday spending money had been taken by the hotel due to an error with the hotels sytem. This caused a great deal of upset and distress to not only my son but myself and my partner as we had to try to explain the situation to our son as to why his spending money for his dream tour of alcatraz island was all gone .it also left us as a family unable to enjoy our holiday and the freedom to spend our money as we intended to and to do the things we had intended to do while in san francisco.Very unsatisfied with the hyatt centric after the 1st nights stay due to the above stated situation we feel this situation completley ruined our sons dream holiday and caused undue distress and left us feeling helpless and hopeless. as parents of an autistic child life is difficult and challenging enough for both parent and child without having to deal with the added distress of loosing all our holiday money on top and we feel our holiday experience was ruined. It was also my sons 1st time flying as was mine too.we wanted to experience this for the 1st time together and cherish the memories of flying together and visiting his dream destination. We feel this situation had a major negative impact on the quality of our holiday and the memories we intended to make together as a family that unfortunatley was impossible to attain due to all our money being taken from my account.i hope that the hyatt centric ensures this never happens to another family as it wasnt just our family affected this happened to several other people staying at the same time. I hope lessons are learned and no one has to experience what we did as a family. Read less
