The hotel

Tenaya Lodge’s setting takes some beating — bordering the Sierra National Forest and set on 75 stunning acres, it’s surrounded by nature. The hotel has plenty of activities, including a choice of trails and a guided walk to a hidden waterfall. Grab your hiking boots, or maybe a mountain bike, and head out to explore. At the end of the day, take a dip in the outdoor pool, get a s’mores kit and sit around the outdoor fire pits, or grab your torch and head out on a night hike. After all that activity, you’re likely to sleep well.

Third year in a row I’ve stayed here. There was a hiccup in service this year though as my last night was cancelled without my being notified. I discovered this when I checked my credit card balance. After a number of back and forth texts though, I received an apology, upgrade, amenity, and they reinstated my reservation. I’m already looking forward to returning next year as the grounds are breathtaking, the staff are kind, friendly, and helpful, cottages are clean and cozy, and food is good. Tenaya is hard to beat! The room was clean and comfortable but the most amazing thing was that my reservation had been cancelled due to unavoidable construction work and Booking.com never conveyed the message to me. I highly recommend this hotel as a great place to begin a journey to Yosemite. I had a great day tour with the hotel’s Yosemite 360 Tours and do it again Read less

I had a wonderful vacation at the Tenaya Lodge in Yosemite. The cabin was comfortable and had a beautiful view. I brought my two dogs, and the lodge is very pet-friendly. In fact, friendly is a great word for the lodge. Everyone there was warm and friendly, especially Lauran at the cabins, who took the time to visit me while I drank my morning… Read more

We stayed at Tenaya at Yosemite in April '24 for 3 nights in a standard double queen room. It was my husband's 50th birthday on the day that we arrived. At check-in we discovered that we had been allocated a newly refurbished room on the 3rd floor and were greeted with a lovely note from the staff wishing him a happy birthday, champagne and a fruit/cheese selection which was a lovely touch. The room didn't have much of a view but it was quiet, which is the main thing. The room was very well appointed, very clean and will zero signs or wear and tear. The bed was really comfortable and we had amazing nights sleep whilst we were there. Despite ongoing refurbishment work going on, we didn't hear anything during our stay and only saw the construction works in the car park when we arrived/departed the hotel. We tried the spa and that was a very relaxing experience, but slightly on the pricey side. The public spaces within the hotel were amazing and very clean. We didn't try out either of the pools but they looked inviting and an unexpected bonus to discover, along with a games room for the kids. Complimentary S 'more between 6-9pm was a lovely touch. We tried both the 'Grab and Go' and the bar/restaurant and the food and drinks in both were enjoyable and we can recommend. Location is spot on, being only a few minutes from the entrance of Yosemite and handy for visiting the Sequoia's. A drive into the valley and to the visitor centre takes about an hour. Added bonus is you pass a gas station on the way if you need to fill up. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would go back if we ever find ourselves visiting Yosemite again. Thank you Tenaya. Read less

It was one of the best trips we've had. Stayed in the Cabins, and what a great experience. The back porch is looking into the forest with 2 bedrooms and a living area with a small kitchen. Interiors are well designed with wilderness as a theme. Continental breakfast is served in the morning and Smoores at night in the main hall. All employees are friendly and professional. Dinning at the main lodge is always excellent. Transportation to and from your cabin to the main lodge is just a phone call away. They pick you up and drop you off, which is great. We've stayed at the main lodge multiple times, and cabins are the best. Highly recommend to stay at Tenaya Read less
