The hotel

Enjoy Louisiana hospitality at its finest at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans French Quarter, a hotel located right in the beating heart of New Orleans. Guest rooms ensure a comfortable base from which to explore the myriad delights this city has to offer, and there’s a state-of-the-art gym as well as an outdoor swimming pool, perfect for cooling off in if you’re visiting in warm weather. The real jewel in the crown at this hotel though is Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House and Beyond. You’ve plenty of wonderful restaurants in the nearby vicinity but Dickie’s is not to be missed. Enjoy a rich array of tantalising Creole specialities, including freshly caught seafood, BBQ shrimp, thick steaks and decadent deserts. And rest assured, if it’s not in season, it’s not on the menu! Oysters are a house speciality, order a dozen at the bar whilst listening to the City’s best shuckers. It’s also a grand spot for a bit of ‘people watching’ with picture windows overlooking the action of Bourbon Street – fun you won’t be able to resist joining in with once dinner’s finished!

Our stay was fantastic, all the staff were friendly and professionally. The room was excellent and the dinning experience was fantastic. Also my wife left her phone behind, and thanks to Brian Astor, security person we were able to get it back due to his prompt and helpful service. Thanks to all the staff and Brian in particular.

This is my Jazz Fest vacation hotel experience. I'm not very demanding. I like clean towels and a clean room. I don't even need the sheets changed daily. Not much to ask when you're being charged top rates during Jazz Fest. When we checked in, the room safe wasn’t working. Three requests and nothing was done. When you get back from Fest, you’re sweaty and covered with suntan lotion. You need a shower. The first day, room service left us two towels, one washrag, and no hand towels or floor mat. The next day, we got one towel and two washrags, no hand towels, and no floor mats. We got back to our room the next day and there were no towels at all. I went to the front desk. We had to wait for towels for almost an hour because “they were all in the dryer.” We were able to shower and go to dinner at 7:45 PM. Oh, and they finally fixed the safe after request Number 4. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty on Day 6. I left it on the sink, so they’d notice it and refill it. THEY PUT IT BACK UP EMPTY. We showered with a tiny sliver of face soap from the sink. Which was never replaced either. We were actually leaving a tip each day and this was our "service." Tipping soon stopped. It went on for 11 days. One day, we’d get coffee and no cups. The next, we’d get cups and no coffee. One day, no hand towels. We never saw a floor mat. One of us almost slipped and fell on the marble floor getting out of the shower. The next to last day, when we got back at 7 PM, THE ROOM WASN’T SERVICED AT ALL! The beds were unmade. Wet towels were on the floor. Back to the front desk, then more of our vacation time wasted waiting for someone to bring towels to the room. When we left, they tried to charge us for an early check-in fee. I didn’t request an early check-in and all they said when we arrived was that the room was ready. To his credit, the manager reversed it, but it certainly topped off a totally unsatisfactory stay. I should say that the front desk staff is courteous, and the rest of the staff is as well. The gym is nice as is the pool. Housekeeping is a disaster. Read less

It was a great location and staff was very helpful. I have been traveling to New Orleans for over 30 years. I got home and realized I left credit cards in safe and Cotina Holmes in security retrieved them and sent to me Will definitely stay there again and highly recommend this location
