This hotel is absolute crap! Went to every single floor's ice machine. No ice. Went to bar. No ice. Went to bar for wine (advertise full bar) only beer no wine. Bartender didn't speak English (no problem with anyone immigrating here but if you are in service industry you should speak language of country you are in). Room air conditioner was… Read more

This hotel is in a great location to walk to restaurants and to Beale Street. We really appreciated the staff, who were extremely friendly and helpful, especially the crew at the valet stand. Overall, rooms were clean, and our stay was fantastic.

Its usually a comfortable and affordable hotel. But this trip the room 866 smelled like someone previously smoked in it, I reported it to the front desk. And the 8th floor hallway had a musty smell. My room had a view of the First Horizon Bank building, but had to draw the curtains because the interior building lights were too bright. I attached… Read more

My room had a view of the First Horizon Bank building, but had to draw the curtains because the interior building lights were too bright. I attached pictures of my king bed room, bath room, front entrance, lobby and bar dining areas. I had to use Uber to get here from the airport, since Avis ran out of cars. But normally you have to Valet park for a fee. But for me, the best feature of this hotel is it’s two blocks from AutoZone field to watch the Memphis Redbirds play. I went to the game tonight, 05/07. Stayed Friday/Saturday for a exploration trip to Memphis. Checkin went fine. We actually Valet parked our car and those guys are tops. Very friendly and helpful. The rooms. its ok. The lock on the outside was missing a cover which felt kind of janky but it worked. The view was great and room comfortable. our friends room had no AC but got moved with no pains. They were charged for an upgrade ( i guess ac is an upgrade lol) but got that charge removed. ok now for the downside. Get towels while your in the lobby if you stay more than one night it will save you a trip. Bring some drinks with you. The lobby bar was never open and a coke at the lobby was stupid expensive. there is a little store around the corner so stock yourselves. We travel extensively and were very surprised the breakfast was not included as normal. For $16.00 per person for microwave eggs, dried out sausage and fix them yourself waffles we opted for a road trip to another broken egg and had a great experience with them. Lastly....check your bill don't just check out and leave. Our bank showed a excessive charge over the amount due. I called and got it corrected and was explained they over authorize in case of room charges. Never experienced this before so check while your there. The other couple got a different explanation but its fixed so oh well. All and all not what we expected from Holiday inn but it served our needs for a place to flop. They missed out on our spending more by the bar not being open but it is what it is. Use the valet parking they are the highlight of the visit Read less

NO HOT WATER!! We couldn't take a shower because there was no hot water. I called the front desk and she said to turn the handle the opposite way. How do you turn the handle the opposite way when the opposite way is OFF. The glass for the shower was right in front of the spigot so you got wet everytime you had to turn on the water. Although the hotel is in a convenient location, it was extremely noisy. Traffic can be heard all night even with a white noise machine running. The doors slam easy so other guest were constantly slamming doors. You had to pay for valet parking and $15 each for breakfast. When checking out I wanted to tell the girl about the water. The conversation went like this. "Are you checking out" "Yes" "You can put the key right there" "OK. I need to tell you there was no hot water" "OK you can still put the key right there" "OK, I will. There was no hot water in the shower or sink" "What room number" I showed her my room number. "OK. You can put the key right there" NO I'm sorry for your experience. Not even a smile. She just kept rudely repeating herself. The only only good thing about this hotel was the valet employees. They were very nice and courteous. Although the hotel can't help it, the walk to Beale street was sketchy. People yelling at you and almost running over you when you were in the crosswalk with the light for you to walk. Not a safe place to be. A shooting the night before. Read less
