After reading previous reviews, we were a bit hesitant to stay at the Sheraton in downtown Memphis again, where we had stayed the past few years. Because we were going to the Blues Music Awards, we decided to take a chance and stay at the Sheraton, which is connected to the Conference center where the awards ceremony was held. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our room. The room and bathroom were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the desk staff were friendly and helpful. The rug, although it had a few stains, appeared to have been recently vacuumed. In addition, we had the buffet breakfast twice and ordered dinner once at the Crossroads restaurant in the Sheraton and also enjoyed going to the Crossroads Tavern after the awards show. The Sheraton lobby had plenty of room and also comfortable chairs for socializing, and we enjoyed being able to meet and greet the Blues artists who stayed at the hotel. The Trolley stop is right outside the Sheraton entrance and there are several restaurants within walking distance, including our favorite Alcenia's. We plan to come back to Memphis again next year for the Blues Music Awards and will definitely be staying at the Sheraton. Read less

I was extremely disappointed by the conditions of this hotel. I had to change rooms two times due to the "cleanliness" of each room. The first room had a few roaches in it. The receptionist then placed me in a room that had weird stains on the carpets/sheets. After pulling back the duvet, I found potato chips under the covers. At this point, I… Read more

The receptionist then placed me in a room that had weird stains on the carpets/sheets. After pulling back the duvet, I found potato chips under the covers. At this point, I wanted to request a refund so I could stay somewhere more comfortable. I will never stay at this hotel again and have advised others to stay away as well. Read less

We stayed in room 1914, top floor second room from the elevators. This is a joined room so there is a door to the room next door. There is a large gap in the door so I am sure they heard everything in our room! The bed is rather soft and one pillow was as thin as a slice of bread. Don’t need extra blankets because you cannot go below a set… Read more

There is a large gap in the door so I am sure they heard everything in our room! The bed is rather soft and one pillow was as thin as a slice of bread. Don’t need extra blankets because you cannot go below a set temperature and first night was very uncomfortable. I travel with extra blankets because I am usually cold but I was uncomfortably hot. However, by the third night I was more comfortable, so it may have been trying to cool from having drapes open. The water is super hot but lacks water pressure. The refrigerator kept drinks cold and the two bottles of water provided was a nice touch! We stayed eye for a conference at the conference center. It was very nice to have a covered, inside walkway for the hotel to the conference center! The elevators had a scan area that says for floors three and up must scan room key, but you don’t really need to. We just hit the floor and it went right up. We were in the south tower and taking the elevator with the glass windows was neat. The elevators are SUPER fast! parking is 33 a day, I heard several parked at the convention center for about a third of the price. However, I heard also issues with the parking app you have to pay on. This hotel is walking distance to the pyramid and the trolley stop is literally right outside the door. Read less

The room, on a high floor, was quiet. Apart from that, the standard was worse than a cheap motel. The fridge was full of food that somebody had left behind and apparently had not been defrosted for months. The unlined wastebaskets must have come from the nearest Dollar General. The chair at the desk was damaged, and the armchair had stains. When… Read more

I’ll start with cons, because there are SO many: Parking entrance at night is dark and poorly indicated. Desk staff announced my room number loudly. As a solo female traveler this is awful and scary. Carpets were awful. Stains and dirty with other debris that clearly indicated they hadn’t even been vacuumed. Valet parking is required but the… Read more

Carpets were awful. Stains and dirty with other debris that clearly indicated they hadn’t even been vacuumed. Valet parking is required but the desk and restaurants have zero cash to help break bills for tips. Had I known prior to arrival I could have planned to bring smaller bills No free coffee in the morning Bed was lumpy and pillows were flat Cons: The restaurant staff was incredibly nice and the breakfast buffet had a lot of nice choices.
