First time in Kauai, so don't really have anything to compare to. Our family of 4 had a relaxing vacation at the Sheraton. We stayed in a ground floor oceanfront room, with direct access to the ocean lawn area. Gorgeous beachfront property with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean if you choose to stay in the ocean or beach wing of the property. The lobby is located across the street on the garden side of the property. Pools were nice but needed better cleaning. I saw plastic cups/trash in the pool a few times I went. Pool service was efficient, never had to wait long to order food/drinks from the restaurant Lava's. Daily activities included in the resort fee, only went to the lei making class, which was pretty neat to learn about the process. Each lei is handmade with a needle and thread. Dining: Lava's or RumFire (open Thursday-Sunday only). Ate at both restaurants. Lava's is more casual and serves the pool and room service as well. Food was average at best. RumFire was more fancy, one of our favorite meals we enjoyed on our last night. Parking: complimentary self parking, free valet for elite members. The hotel grounds are well kept, but some of the rooms could use some updating. Overall nice hotel, would stay here again we're in Kauai. Read less

I can hardly imagine a better place. Expansive, uncrowded. Very well laid out. The view from our balcony may be the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen. They even have a Hertz office right in the hotel . and free parking. Plenty of stores and restaurants within a couple of miles, but not overly developed. The staff were all great. We didn’t want to… Read more

5 stars! Truly a great resort. We had Garden view room purchased on a special deal, and it was still a lovely view (better than I expected). The ocean view rooms looked spectacular from what I could see on the outside. The service, people, grounds, room cleanliness and quality, pools, beach were all five stars. The only minor negative thing I… Read more

The only minor negative thing I can think of is that Lava’s restaurant needs a better dinner menu while their lunch menu had more good choices. I highly recommend this property. Read less

Nice location, views were great. Pool is nice, a bit small with no heat. Pool service was pretty good. Our room was in a great location. Luau entertainment was informative and the performers were talented. The food was not good at all. Paid photo opportunity. Received a nut lei, because we did not have reserved seating. I think this was over $400 a couple. I would not recommend. Just for visiting concierge a 100 point Bonvoy points were to be added to our membership. This was after we declined any information on Timeshare. We never received points. There is a small cafe to get breakfast. Food was decent. probably hotels that are as equally nice or better to stay at in PoiPu. Read less

The staff went above and beyond to keep the resort clean and dry and safe. Only downsides - it would be nice if the "resort fee" would include use of snorkeling, chairs, boogie boards, etc. Not really sure what the fee covered, when anything that we wanted to do/use had an extra charge. And the parking spots are REALLY narrow. We always had a spot near our building, but it was challenging to fit in it. Overall - a great trip - would absolutely go here again. Read less
