The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

For a room to be in the suite category, it must consist of two or more interconnected rooms. In addition, as in standard rooms, the toilet and bathroom are also located in the suite. In other words, a suite room is like an apartment where you can meet all your needs. First and last time we will stay at The Linq in Las Vegas. First impression of room...not a suite, dirt stains and tape on walls, picture frames broken, one towel, fridge not in room as advertised. Not sure when the room was last dusted, as mirror in room had not been cleaned for months. The very small bathroom sink was clogged and smelled like a sewer. Caller for service, but not fixed. Also reported shower had a slow drain and filled with standing water when used. Also not fixed. We had housekeeping one day; beds not made, sheets not changed, one one large towel included in two person room. I don't mind using a towel twice, but who knows the last time linens were cleaned. The pool was okay, but the hotel needs to advertise music starts everyday at 9:00 am, so don't plan on sleeping in on vacation...impossible. Loud rap crap everyday. Oh,the cost of drinks at the pool is worse than highway robbery. $39.99 for one drink, $800 for a bottle of tequila...wow. The patio had lights that do not work. There were multiple outlets in the room, but only one worked. No one apparently every checks the room to ensure it's in good order. Lastly, when I tried to get an extra hour for check out, was told it costs $30. I was going to pay for it, but then hotel staff called me back and stated they made a mistake. They said since it was a Suite, it would be $60. I said te room is not a suite, not advertised as a suite. I said forget it...not worth it. We have been going to Vegas 2x a year for 20 years. We will never stay here again, nor recommend to anyone. Extremely disappointed all the way around. I have never written a review, but fair warning to all. Not a place to stay. Read less

I was initially put off by the influx of bad reviews before my stay but I can say it wasn’t too bad. Starting with the positives the room was pretty much spotless and spacious. The hotel itself is nice with some pretty decent dinning and you have the massive advantage of being practically dead centre on the strip and having the promenade just outside. On the flip side the customer service is very hit and miss. I was lining up to check out, I needed to check I hadn’t been charged extra for wifi as I had had issue during my stay and after several calls to the front desk and being transferred to the IT department they were still unable to fix the issue so they said add extra wifi to my bill (max two devices) and I won’t be charged. An employee attending to the line said it was fine and I could just leave but this didn’t sit right with me so I waited to get a copy of my bill and low and behold it was there and had to be removed. There were also some other extra charges that shouldn’t have been there so I highly recommend not leaving without a copy of your bill as they are making a lot of errors with the resort free ext. Lastly my least favourite part and biggest gripe was the pool. We had a pool view room on the 8th fool and omg! The DJ starts the music at 9AM and goes non stop till 6PM every day. There is loud and there is excessively loud. The walls would almost shake from the bass and our room was quite high up! So be warned of you stay here don’t expect a lay in past 9AM. Furthermore there is a very small amount of sun beds available but plenty you can reserve for $150 a day… cocktails are about $60 to so keep this in mind if your planning on spending time but the pool. I can find another hotel that will care about their guest comfort nore than the music that is played at the pool. Read less

Paulo who was working the evening shift was upbeat, personable, and understanding with all guests he interacted with. My family and I were having a rough night elsewhere on the strip, and he changed that once we stepped in front of him. The LINQ will be my first choice for all future visits.

Some of our party were flying home at 5a the next day and the lights stopped working in the bathroom. This of course impacted our ability to shower. I called for service at about 8am. No one ever came. I stopped at the desk on my way out and was offered a $35 dining credit after explaining we couldn't shower and were on our way to the airport. They offered to turn that into a credit to the bill. I contacted customer service a couple of times once I got home but no one has ever called me back. I think this experience warrants more than a $35 credit and am disappointed that no one responded. I will not return to this hotel again. Read less
