This is my first Trip Advisor review--I feel compelled to share my experience at Hotel 50 Bowery! Honestly this was the best stay and urban retreat I've had in New York! I had just come from a long exhausting work trip in Philadelphia, and when I checked in, I told Sonya (who helped check me in at 10pm) that all I want to do is stay in a nice room, do nothing and just relax. I ended up booking a suite, but I did not know that a room like this existed at this gem hotel! When I walked up to the room, I knew it was special when was a name for the room, "Ruby Suite" on the door. The other rooms on the floor only had numbers. It turned out to be a corner suite on the highest floor. It had a 180 view of Manhattan from bedroom, to bathrooms to living room. It was just breathtaking! I got to soak in NYC from afar, while being in the comfort of my room. I liked the stay so much, I decided to extend an extra day, until I had to go to the airport. Forget about staying near the airport lol. My NYC friends and I decided to cancel our restaurant reservation in SoHo and they came over for a last minute take out dinner in the room. It'll be hard to find a quiet restaurant with this kind of view. Their rooftop bar view is great too! Also other perks: on the 2nd floor there is a terrace for fresh air/lounging, work space, a microwave, paper plates, disposable utensils, coffee, tea, water, and printed newspapers (Wall Street Journal, NY Times, China Daily) available. It's a great place to stay for business or vacation as it's walking distance to Chinatown, Lower East Side, SoHo, West Village, Tribeca, and Wall Street. You could also catch the bus or subway to Midtown, Uptown or to Brooklyn or Jersey, etc. I am so grateful to the Hotel 50 Bowery staff, Sonya, Jordan, Songha, other front desk guy (didn't catch his name) and Housekeeper for 2018 that all helped me make this stay so memorable. The housekeeper not only made the room super clean and comfortable for me, I felt like she tailored the room to my needs during a mid-stay housekeeping. I really appreciate the little details and efforts made to make the bed linen crisp and wrinkle free! Jordan had called me prior to checkout and asked if I needed help getting my luggage down, so he sent Songha. Songha helped me book a car to the airport, and made it so easy for me. The driver arrived early. I highly recommend their car service to the airport--depending on the hour, it might be cheaper than Ride Share Apps. And it's nice to support a local semi-retired professional driver. It was such a great ride--clean, comfortable car, good driving, and I had a wonderful conversation with him. I really value these experiences, and my stay at your hotel was definitely one to remember and I can't wait to be back and bring my family! Read less

50 Bowery is a lovely hotel and it was fun being in Chinatown, but the mattress is not good enough. Also, there is no healthy food available by room service, just some packaged snacks you can buy like candy.

I was treated as a delivery person instead of a guest. Brushed off actually then the hotel false advertised free drinks. Access to a roof top lounge. Good service. Room service. I received nothing I spent 1000 for
