I stayed 5 nights in this hotel while attending a professional meeting at the Javits convention center. Staff: The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms: These were typical for a chain hotel of this level and on the small side, as is typical of NYC hotel rooms. However the rooms were clean with the usual features. Other amenities: Breakfast was free though I never got there in time to try it. Ditto for the gym. Location: The hotel is within a reasonable walk of the convention center and right across the street from the new train pavilion of Penn Station. This made it easy to get to when traveling from out of town since Amtrak trains go into Penn station and the air train from JFK airport goes to Jamaica where you can transfer to a Long Island Rail Road train into Penn station. Subways from Penn station connect easily to other parts of the city. Overall I would definitely stay here again if attending an event at the convention center. Read less

The customer service at this hotel is absolutely unacceptable. Apparently they run cc transactions the night before the stay and for some reason there was an issue with my cc. The customer service at this hotel is absolutely unacceptable. Apparently they run cc transactions the night before the stay and for some reason there was an issue with my cc. Instead of calling me to check on the status of the cc or offer an opportunity to fix the problem, they automatically cancelled my room! We arrived at the hotel only to find out the reservation was cancelled! We were stuck booking a room at the last minute in NYC the night of our stay!! Not cool! We ended up paying $1500 for a room at another hotel due to limited room availability. It seems this hotel would prefer to cancel those cheaper rates to over-sale at the inflated last minute rates. BAD BUSINESS, this is not how you treat loyal customers. Read less

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it comfortable and quaint. It was convenient to Penn Station and I enjoy exploring the things that Penn Station had to offer. Shea help my family at the hotel and I found her to be thorough and efficient. She was a dear doll.

THE HOTEL HAD A FLOOD ACROSS 6 FLOORS AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. GUESTS HAD TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BECAUSE NO ONE WAS TAKING ACTION AND TOLD US WE CAN STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. FLOORS WERE SOAKED AND WATER IN THE ROOM WAS BLACK AND BROWN AND STAFF DID NOT TELL ANYONE. PERSONAL BELONGINGS WERE DESTROYED IN THE FLOOD AND STAFF DID NOT CARE.
