An extremely terrible and horrible experience during check-in procedure tonight. The room is OK. The location is good, but the service and hospitality of this hotel is very bad. The very bad checkin experience made us an awful obsession. Very regret for the name of IHG group.

I was hesitant after reading reviews for this hotel, but the staff was amazing and I NEVER felt unsafe, it's NYC and there are people everywhere. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

There is a coffee machine but it’s not great coffee. A kettle would be better Bathroom was great. Clean towels each day. Massive downside to Thai hotel is the courtyard outside. The benches attracted homeless & people generally hanging around. We witnessed fights & drug taking. Not just weed. We even had people shouting ‘boo’ in your faces when coming into the hotel. Luckily we were too exhausted to go out in the evening. We would have not felt safe This is very intimidating especially when you have children with you. Security (not the guy with glasses) is too busy on his phone to move people along or even see what is happening. We love NYC but we won’t return to this hotel. Read less

We arrived at the hotel and ran a gauntlet of homeless people and beggars in a small courtyard between the sidewalk and front door. Upon entering the building we expected a hotel foyer but in fact what we found was more in keeping with a small railway ticket office with 2 desks to the left 2 elavators straight ahead, lots of people all hanging around in a very small space and a security guard controlling the flow of people in and out of elevators. After check in we went upstairs to our extremely small room which was clean and reasonably comfortable. It dud not however offer the standard IHG choice of soft and firm pillows. All soft, take it or leave it. The shower was scalding hot or cold, no in-between and the wait for the elevator every time we came and left the room was horrendous. I have used IHG hotels for over 20 years and I must admit I have never been as disappointed with my hotel before. I appreciate New York is a busy city and you expect it to be expensive but they charge extra city taxes room taxes etc on top and the quality of this hotel is far below a Holiday Inn express and should be avoided by anyone who is looking for decent accommodation in the centre of the city. The courtyard is very intimidating as a couple and would definitely not be suitable for a single person. Read less

Beds were really comfortable, room size was fine for the 3 of us, it's a base and somewhere to sleep it, doesn't have be the size of a house. Bathroom was fine, you can't see through the frosting so I'm not sure why people were complaining, but some people like to complain about anything these days. Lift... We were on the 35th floor and longest wait was about 5 minutes, not sure where people got 20 minutes from, but see above about people who like to complain. Room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day, fresh towels when needed and coffee topped up for machine. Staff all amazingly friendly and a big thanks to Nellie for organising a late checkout for us. Outside the hotel wasn't anywhere near as bad as I expected from some of the reviews, yes a few people hanging around and the smell of weed occasionally, but given you can buy that legally in New York it's hardly surprising and was far less common than Bradford where it isn't legal. Location is fantastic, great for everything, can be a little bit loud, but you're in New York, city of those who like to honk their horns endlessly for no apparent reason. We will return to New York in a couple of years and definitely stay here again, unless you're a professional moaner there really isn't anything to moan about. Mark, Adele and Jack Read less
