we flew from london for our first time leasure trip to NY for a few nights. to start off with the positives, the first staff they welcomed us and gave us the room they were professional to their job and friendly. The room with the queen bed was stunning and quite comfortable. one of the best beds we slept on! The room was big enough and the bathroom luxurious. the house keepers were brilliant to their job and very helpful to assist you. the hotel i located within a heartbeat distance to most touristic attractions in mid town. including times square. our stay in general was good but not the best as we run through a few bumps on the way. the negatives were took off when we sat down for our first breakfast. we were put at the bar even though they were free tables back at the restaurant. when one of the dinners left their table, we asked if we can sit there. the answer was more of a cold no. we expressed our dissatisfaction at the managing staff, where they're written off the bill in a apologetic gesture. And we asked what about the $44. per person on our bill, where we were only meant to pay $12? since then, we were put off for our breakfast experience with the hotel. And to be honest, we enjoyed more the coffees and delicacies from the local shops. Not getting the feeling we were ripped off with every bite. the whole stay we had our do not disturb sign out the door. only once, one of the house keepers came in to clean the room and apparently we got charged unbeknownst to us in the end. Even though, our intentions were clear before they enter the room. Be aware that the hotel charges Amenity fees for every night you stay in the hotel! we weren't quite explained how it works. we still don't get the whole concept of it. never had that charge before in any hotel we stayed around the world. it just makes the whole experience disappointing and casts a shadow on the good times you had there. Literally, you're feeling like a money cow! to my regret, we are not coming back to this again, until they scrap off their amenity fees. Read less

Right from our arrival until our departure, we received professional and friendly service from every staff member we met, including those at concierge services, reception, room service, and The Parlour Bar. Our standard bedroom was very spacious and comfortable, & most importantly, my wife was delighted with the bathroom! The hotel's communication was outstanding coupled with its perfect location, making it the ideal spot for our visit to NYC. Look forward to visiting again sooner rather than later. Read less

We stayed here for an anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to be greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and a cheese/grapes platter in our room. We were wished Happy Anniversary by several members of staff too which was a really nice touch. This hotel is in a fabulous location-close enough to walk to everything but a nice distance away from the loudness, hustle and bustle of NY city. Our room was spacious, clean & comfortable but was right next to the lift so a little noisy. We asked concierge if we could change rooms, all we had to do was pack up our stuff and when we returned later in the day our suitcases had been moved into a quieter room. Excellent service. The breakfast buffet is probably one of the best we’ve ever had. Plenty of choice, hot buffet, continental breakfast, fruits, cereals, pastries, fresh juice, tea, coffee etc. We had drinks in the bar every night to use half of the daily tourism tax. This is another NY tax-nothing g to do with the hotel. The bar is on the main foyer and stocked with plenty of branded spirits. I would say they’re double shots as definitely much stronger than anything in the uk, Our only negative would be the breakdown of any additional extras is confusing. You can view it on your tv but it’s not broken down into specifics so you really need to keep an eye on it. Ours was incorrect but it’s was sorted out easily at the front desk and corrected. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again if we return to NY. Special thanks to Sofia and her excellent team for looking after us so well. Read less

Waited 15 minutes to check in. Was given a tiny room on a floor under construction. Very disappointing. I don’t think the staff really cared. No coffee available in the morning - they gave me a discount card to go to a cafe down the street. I expected a lot more from an Intercontinental hotel.

I stayed here for a weekend. I have always preferred to stay in the midtown east area of the city. One thing I noticed was that the room was very clean - kudos to the housekeeping team! The room has been renovated and well amenitized, and so is the bathroom. I had breakfast one morning at the hotel - the buffet is expansive, though it would have been nice if ala carte was also offered. Front desk staff were polite, though not really warm and friendly. The only hiccup during my stay was upon checkout, they have not entered my breakfast charge from that morning. But when I received my folio by email, I realized that they did not credit the $20 daily resort fee to the breakfast. I had to call to get that corrected. Read less
