Rooms are small but good. Aircon is either off or a jet engine so not the best and not sure how it would be in the summer as we turned it off at night. Trendy black decor and trendy rooftop bar where 5 staff struggled to serve 6 customers as they were busy chatting and taking pictures of themselves… lifts were a pain at times as a long wait. The snacks at 3 well we went there at 4 and there were a few apples. Agree the resort fee is a rip off but all US hotels do this plus demand tips so us Brits need to budget for this as it’s the way here. Liked the location and some good Irish bars like Slattery’s where the happy hour is great. Could be a 3 but 4 due to location and good reception team. Didn’t try the breakfast. Read less

I can quite honestly say this hotel is horrendous , admittedly our initial issue was down to our travel agent and a missing reservation but the staff on the desk , including the manager are incompetent, unfriendly , rude and down right unhelpful. After being told our reservation would be ok for 5 nights and that they would resolve the issue with the travel agent and their own reservations department , Myself and my disabled husband were turfed out with nowhere to go after one night. I recommend never ever staying here and hopefully our travel agent will remove it from hotels they sell. Although the room was nice , it was incredibly small and very noisy. I can’t think of a positive thing to say about this hotel even the free water bottles leaked ! Our honey moon has been tainted along with our first impression of New York ! Read less

A really lovely hotel in a fantastic location. It’s super clean and has a great boutique vibe. A really lovely hotel in a fantastic location. It’s super clean and has a great boutique vibe. Our room was at the end of the corridor and was the perfect size, maybe we got lucky as some reviews have said rooms are small but ours was quite big. It had a walk in closet so plenty of room for storage and suitcases, as well as air con and a safe built into the drawers. Some really nice touches such as bathrobes and umbrellas to use / purchase. You’re also given a free refillable water bottle to keep and fill up using their dispensing machines which had plenty of flavoured water options and 24 hour access which was useful. Hotel is in a great location, nearest subway was 2 min walk away, right next to Macy’s which is around the corner. Around a 10 minute walk to Times Square and similar distance to Penn Station. Next to the hotel is a burger restaurant, as well as an Irish bar and some Korean restaurants, also a Starbucks around the corner. Couldn’t ask for a more central location, it’s just outside of the chaos of Times Square but walking distance to all of midtown and all the main sites. The staff were really helpful and attentive which was nice. The rooftop bar was fab, the hotel stated it didn’t open until June so we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to find it open. It has an amazing view of the Empire State Building, bespoke cocktails and snacky food so definitely worth a visit on an evening. The hotel has a large luggage room to keep suitcases after checkout which was also helpful. Overall I would definitely recommend and we would visit again, genuinely nothing negative to say and well worth the money compared to other hotels near by. Read less

The Hotel is lovely, as was our room, we were there for our 25th wedding anniversary and on arrival found a bottle of champagne with a card waiting for us, a lovely touch. The staff couldn’t be faulted, they were really very good. The one bug bare was the £100 charge for the assumed use of the gym and unlimited coffee on the second floor, this… Read more

The staff couldn’t be faulted, they were really very good. The one bug bare was the £100 charge for the assumed use of the gym and unlimited coffee on the second floor, this charge is just greed on behalf of the owners. We did not require the gym and the coffee was poor to say the least. We will return to New York but will not stay at the Kixby for that reason. Read less

We booed the Kixby as part of a package with Virgin. Quite close to Penn station and so close to everything else! There were 3 rooms booked in our party and I was based on floor 7 towards the back of the hotel so didn’t have the best view out of the window. There were 3 rooms booked in our party and I was based on floor 7 towards the back of the hotel so didn’t have the best view out of the window. We had a queen room which had a very comfy bed, en-suite with a big shower, wardrobe and drawers. Also a coffee machine which was replaced daily. The reception staff were very welcoming every-time we left and came back asking about our day and providing great information. If you want advice on places to eat, ask and they will provide a sheet of recommendations. We are in Liberty’s a couple of doors down (twice) and the Irish bar (did get conned on the bill there though). The rooftop bar was open when we were there and had amazing views of the Empire State Building. Cocktails were not cheap at $18. There is a charge on a credit card when you arrive which was refunded before we event left the airport. There is also a daily charge which allows you to have a water bottle at the beginning and on floor 2 is a room with tea/coffee/hot water, cold water and ice (you also have an ice bucket in your room) suggest buying duty free if coming from UK. Had a great stay thank you all at Kixby!! Read less
