Great location, right on the 6th Avenue and 53/52nd Street. There is a subway station right on the other side of the block 7th/53rd which you can get a number of different lines around Manhatten. Hotel gets quite busy for check in so if you can checkin beforehand I would recommend. Hotel room was lovely, had a twin room. There is a fridge, had to hunt for the hairdryer, but there are NO coffee making facilities in the room. There are full size Crabtree and Evelyn shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also an iron. Handsoap is also provided and a little box containing a hair tie and shower cap, but is not replaced every day. Bed was very comfortable indeed, and plenty of pillows. There is a small safe in the room. The TV is really quite large. Some of the plug sockets weren't great and didn't really charge/work. I do find American electrical sockets ineffective in general. Heating / a/c worked well. If you go to customer services, they gave us a voucher to use in some local restaurants with 15% off, very useful. There is a store where you can get food and hot drinks at all times. It sells deserts, salads, filled rolls, pizza, ice cream etc if you don't want a large meal in the evening. There is a bar and a separate bar which you can have a smallish selection of pub food. Breakfast was very good. American breakfast was charged at $49, but we had free breakfast with our deal. Very large selection of cornflakes, pastries, breads, cold meat and cheese, yogurts, pancakes and waffles, sausages, scrambled egg, bacon and they also can make omelets to order. There is a little gift shop there for any last minute gifts. You can also leave your luggage after checkout, but they charge $5 per case/bag. Hotel also charges $35 pn plus tax and state tax, so about $40 per room per night on top. Definitely would stay again as ideal location. Read less

My experience at the Hilton Midtown was pretty average. Upon arriving the lobby was jam packed with people waiting to check-in and *very* long lines. In my four-day stay at the Hilton this was the norm every time I passed through the lobby. There is a conspicuous lack of any seating in the lobby. The weirdest thing about the my stay was definitely the linens in my room. For starters, the towels are quite thin for a hotel of this price range. I was only allocated one wash cloth in my room. The weirdest thing about the linens is that there was NO fitted sheet on my bed (Just a flat sheet tucked in) and NO duvet cover on the duvet (again, just sandwiched between two flat sheets). So at night I would wake up rolled in a series of flat sheets with my face laying on an uncovered duvet. I inquired with my housekeeper, assuming there had been some mistake with the limited towels and lack of normal bed linens, and she assured me that all of this was normal. The cleanliness in my room was just ok. There was a pack of unopened condoms on the shelf in my closet when I checked in. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating A hotel you don’t want to stay!

The first room smelled like onions! Then they moved me to another (maybe as a punishment) where the bed’s heat where peeled and looked dirty. The closets doors had black sports all over. And the manager said there was nothing he can do! A very disgusting experience! Even worst if you are paying over $400 a night
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Conveniently located hotel that meets expectations

This hotel met our expectations. It's HUGE and fairly expensive, but it's conveniently located. It was perfectly fine and met our needs. There is apparently a $30 or $35 per day charge that you can then use to buy food etc. from the property, but I'm guessing they do this because they know most people won't (know to) spend the money.

I have stayed here many times in the past because of the executive lounge and the location. But it has become very crowded and feels like a busy train station. Long lines for coffee, a long wait for the lounge etc. the quality of the food in the lounge is awful. I will look for another hotel in the area.
