Traveling with teens and did not want to get two separate hotel rooms. Renaissance’s King Suite was the perfect solution. The teens were able to have their own area with the pull out sofa and bathroom. We were able to enjoy a full size hotel room and bathroom with a King bed. The Times Square location is a great centrally located area for starting off for sightseeing in NYC. The noise level was a concern for me. Several reviews stated higher floors help keep the noise level to a minimum. We were on the top floor (26) and could still hear quite a bit. So if you are expecting quiet nights, this is not the place. Everything was clean, fresh towels every day. We had an issue with the iron in the room. Called downstairs and they had a new one in my hands quickly. My only major complaint was breakfast in the restaurant. Most expensive hotel buffet I’ve ever paid for. And quite possibly the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Eggs had no seasoning, sausage was overcooked and tough to chew. We basically paid $200+ for four of us to eat muffins and cereal. They also had some tickets to offer.... bike rental at Central Park and Whitney museum..... The staff were always nice to answer to answer any question or even to receive our packages!!! We were always on a run to the day.... so we didn't have breakfast at the hotel.. but there were many Starbucks around. We had a 35 usd a day to use in the bar. So we always got drinks... water... And even if it was late, they would serve us. I asked for a latter check out... they extended until 2pm. The time that I needed. The only down part is the toilet paper.... bad.... should be better.. for a 4-star hotel!!! I will definitely be back!!!! Read less

This hotel is on Times Square so close to everything. I attended a meeting at the Marriott Marquis which is around the corner. The Marquis is jam packed with people and very noisy. The Renaissance is a nice compromise. The room was on the small side so not large enough for a family. The restaurant is open for breakfast, but nothing available… Read more

Not even a small market area. The concierge is helpful in arranging theater tickets and calling for other arrangements Read less

We stayed in room 1810 from May 4 until May 8. Our housekeeper on who serviced our room was exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our strange schedule. We were coming and going at all hours. All of the front desk and security staff were friendly and helpful. Very positive experience and I would use this hotel again. It is incredibly conveniently located on Times Square. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Policies work against women

I’m a nursing mother on a work trip. This hotel and male management were totally unwilling to freeze and store milk for me to be able to travel home. Policies like these are sexist and prevent women from working. I’m honestly blown away because all hotels offer this service, and the cost per night of the Renaissance is easily 3x those hotels.
