Standard Rooms are 300 sq ft offering city views with either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.
Deluxe Rooms are slightly bigger at 400 sq ft offering city views and an additional sitting area. These rooms have 1 king-size bed sleeping maximum 2 adults. 


Studio King Rooms are an expansive 450 sq ft with city views, 1 king-size bed and a sleeper sofa, sleeping maximum 3 adults.  


Upper Stories Rooms are situated on the highest floors of the hotel, offering breathtaking panoramic views, and access to the Upper Stories Lounge. We stayed here for three nights in May and we had a room with two double beds for three adults. PROs: Excellent breakfast menu and delicious food; elevators are fast and efficient; polite friendly and helpful staff at front desk, entrance, housekeeping, and restaurant. Unbeatable location near Central Park and yet close enough to walk to mid-town attractions without being too near the crowded busy areas. Public areas were clean; tidy and well maintained. Room was well appointed and organized for storage. Cons: Rooms needed more seating and more than one luggage rack. Had to ask for an ironing board since there wasn't one in the room. Each bed had two large but very flat pillows which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Bathroom: small and the shower had no door which meant the floor was always getting wet. For a high end hotel, the toiletries were v. basic. The bath could have also used a dehumidifier and more towel hooks. Read less

Some great things Some not so great. The Thompson Central Park has a lot going for it - it is very central location, lobby and entrance are nice and modern, rooms are pleasant, comfortable and a good standard, burger joint is a plus, staff overall ok. The lounge is not good value, for $100 per day - wow ! The breakfast is ok but not what you would hope for at that cost, dry baked eggs and cheap yogurt, but great coffee machine and nice bagels ! Evening snacks are frozen bites reheated. Lounge decor is nice, can be noisy with children and loadish people insisted to do zoom calls in public space. No other real benefits for the extra $100 per day. Room was not at all soundproof - noise from street and banging internal doors constantly very uncomfortable Read less

We could not have picked a better place to celebrate Mother’s Day than the Thompson at Central Park. It is conveniently located close to Central Park, within a few short blocks to the Broadway theaters, between two subway stations and a short walk to Times Square. The room was beautiful and clean. We had a wonderful view. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. I emailed the hotel before coming to let them know we were celebrating and they brought us the most beautiful tray of fruits and breads and a special Mother’s Day note! Great hotel. Very nice rooms, friendly service and excellent location. Very convenient that there was also an ATM downstairs. Could not really fault anything but tbh not really worth the price you’re paying (tho to be fair it may be a New York problem than Thompson specifically)
