This is a very nice hotel in an excellent Upper West Side location, convenient to the Park, shopping, and, with a 15 minute walk, Lincoln Center. We splurged on a suite, and it was really lovely: very spacious, with two big rooms and a small but functional kitchenette. You can pop across the street to a couple of terrific grocery stores, or up to Zabar's and bring back a feast. At the least, you can save money on breakfast. We really enjoyed staying here. It was perfectly quiet, and clean. We had sticker shock after the fact: it was $1300 for two nights! But that was mostly because of our choice of room (which also had a lovely view). I would gladly stay here again. Read less

While the hotel room itself was fairly basic (as anticipated), the price was very good, and the staff at the Hotel Beacon was truly wonderful! The location is great: it is nice to have such a large market right across the street; the park is a quick walk away.

The staff was kind and cheerful. The entire hotel seemed well taken care of and was very clean. There is a market across the street. Many wonderful restaurants are within easy walking distance. We will stay at Hotel Beacon next time we are in New York. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating A true New York experience!

If you want the true NY experience, Hotel Beacon is a must! Staying here is feels just like living in your own apartment. I lived in NYC years ago and this is the closest I've ever come to capturing that hometown feeling. It's perfectly located - the best food stores, restaurants, Lincoln Center, Central Park, the subway. I don't want to leave!!

(Room 2206) Beds very comfy, lovely clean linen and towels, friendly reception staff. A great view from room, and great location near Central Park, a couple subway options, and large supermarket directly opposite the hotel. Laundry room worked well and was useful. Daily clean dishes were a bonus. Lacking: a table as in photo on booking.com, it was tricky to eat on our laps. Also lacking a light in the corner behind armchair, was too dark to read. Curtain was broken and old and needs replacing. An electric kettle would be good, and teaspoons. Bathrooms could be and smell cleaner. Missed having a hand held shower head. Hotel Beacon was generally a great base to explore NYC but couldn’t give it a 5 due to the above, just needs a little TLC and updating. Read less
