Pros: Nice location next to TPC San Antonio golf course, Spacious rooms Cons: Crowded, Loud, Too many kids, Expensive with junk fees This hotel is suitable for families with younger kids who want to be around a lot of other families with younger kids. If you are a couple seeking relaxation, this is not the place for you. First, set aside at least an hour for check-in and self-parking. I waited in line to drop off my bags, then made three very long loops around the parking lot only to park on Level 6 and walk up a hill to get to the hotel. I was charged a self-parking fee for the chore of driving around to find a parking space. Once you get checked in, the rooms are suitable. The pool area has potential, but it loses its luster with the over-crowding and lack of space (good luck finding chairs together unless you arrive early or later in the day). The gym in nice, go early in the morning or in the evening to beat the crowds. The restaurants/bars were over-priced and unremarkable. Pro-tip: Don't get your coffee at the hotel Starbucks, you are better off driving offsite. Drinks in the morning were taking an hour after 8 a.m. Go early if you must! All said, it's not for me and my family would prefer a more relaxing hotel. Live and learn. Read less

Hot tub for adults was over crowded. Need more adult hot tubs. This is a luxury hotel with high capacity for adults but only one outdoor hot tube?? Makes no sense. People waiting to get into the tub. Those sitting in the hot tub were literally neck to neck.

Great staff and facility! We also got a cabana and all the staff was really kind and helpful. The on campus restaurant food was excellent and the staff was very respectful and helpful! The grounds were well kept and there were several recent upgrades to the gym/workout facility and equipment.

We stayed here one weekend over four years ago and said then that the restaurants were the best part of the stay. This time, this visit, we only spent one night, day before Easter, it was really expensive and really crowded. Will say it again, it’s horrible to have to pay resort fees when you absolutely do not use them. There must be a better way. Yes the place is very clean inside and out and staff is nice and friendly. Front desk agents Andy and, oops, can’t remember her name helped with Wi-Fi, didn’t see it written if it was “free” and a cousin that was with us needed to do some work and asked about Wi-Fi. They asked if we were Bonvoy members, yes we are so wi fi was “free”. Talk about a small world, Andy had lived in the area where we are from! He sent a sweet card with mini Easter chocolates to our room. A nice gesture, give the young man a raise, after all he will own an Apple Store one day (inside joke between us!) Saturday evening there was NO WHERE to sit in the large lobby. All those nice leather couches, taken. Kids running around everywhere. I finally went up to the bar, Crooked - , and asked if we could sit at a table, even though there were “reserved” signs on all three unoccupied tables. Was told yes, of course. The three of us had one expensive, over ten dollars each, drink each. Server was sweet, even recognized us as we passed by the bar area the next day. Gift shop is expensive, five dollars for a diet Dr Pepper, but they do have a lot of gift items to choose from and couldn’t believe they still had the lavender lambs, as I bought one last trip, years ago. We had reservations for the Easter buffet, which I called about a few weeks before the trip as we didn’t see the menu listed on website/Facebook. Gigi sent us the menu, another sweet young lady. We arrived 30 minutes early (we were given a late checkout when asked when checking in, very nice young lady) only to be told that we had to wait til exact time, said they were regrouping, etc. Ok. Then same gal started telling people to line up and did come to where we were sitting to tell us same thing. BUT, she wanted the line against the wall where double doors were and people were going in/out. We were the second family in line, which was right where the doors were but we did NOT block the doors, and 10 minutes into standing, a family of four comes and stands in front of us, cuts in line and blocks the doors. If it wasn’t Easter, I would have said something to them! We had a lovely waitress named Karen. Not overly pleased with buffet and yes very expensive. I like salty foods but, oh my goodness, everything was really salty especially the gravy for biscuits. My husband only enjoyed the grouper, my cousin just picked at a few things but liked the boiled shrimp the best. I was looking forward to the charcuterie, but disappointed. Only a couple of meats and a couple of strong cheeses, all repeated all the way around the display table. Im not a dessert person but I really enjoyed the good selection, especially the peanut brittle! Read less
