Set against a dramatic Table Mountain backdrop, South Africa's oldest working harbour is an ideal place to stay for first timers in the city. You'll have plenty of amenities right at your fingertips - there's over 500 retail stores, 80 eateries, and daily live entertainment!
This upmarket suburb is where you'll find gorgeous white-sand beaches and shimmering blue waters, framed by a promenade with patio dining and plenty of cocktail spots. It's also home to a mall full of boutique stores and a modern theatre.
Stay in the thick of things in the City Centre, home to Government Avenue, the South African museum, and the Castle of Good Hope. This compact city centre can be explored on foot by taking part in a walking tour, and there's plenty to enjoy as the sun goes down with a range of theatres, restaurants and music venues.
Head a little while outside the city and you'll discover a range of wine routes, where you can enjoy a famously fabulous South African tipple in stunning surroundings. Franschhhoek is one of our favourites, with a quaint village at its centre and some truly gorgeous hotels to stay at - and there's a wine tram!
Sitting on Lion Head's slopes - and overlooked by it's impressive summit - is Bantry Bay, an affluent suburb known as Cape Town's least windy spot. Located between Camps Bay and the V&A Waterfront, this is a good spot for those who want to easily access both areas.
Cape Town's Foreshore is perfectly placed for venturing into the heart of the city, running adjacent to the V&A Waterfront, and sitting just in front of the city centre. This area is home to the Cape Town Civic Centre and the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
