Throughout our stay, my daughters repeatedly commented on how friendly and helpful all the staff were. Our room was beautifully prepared with thoughtful touches to celebrate my birthday and make the children feel special as well. I would also like to personally commend two exceptional staff members: Mdou, the porter, who was incredibly helpful during both check-in and check-out, and Robert, the pianist, whose passion for his craft was truly inspiring. Robert took the time to compose three short pieces with my daughters, reigniting their love for the piano, and generously shared valuable advice with them. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we are deeply grateful to the team at The Palace for making it so memorable. Read less

Robert, the pianist at the Courtyard, was so friendly and welcomed my daughters to join him in creating a new melody. They named the melody "A dream come true". He also shared interesting facts with them - including that Elton John played on the same piano. Our stay was one we will treasure forever! We were able to unwind and relax and create new core memories as a family. Read less

We’ve been a very fortunate to stay in some exceptional hotels in South Africa over the years, but the grandeur of the Palace Hotel at Sun City blew us away. It isn’t just the grandeur of the Palace, but the service levels we experienced were exceptional and sets it apart from other 5 star properties. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special, being met by Hotel Manager Nico and his assistant manager and our Butler in reception was classy. We had regular checks from staff to ensure everything was okay. We booked a 4 night stay in a junior suite but were upgraded to an awesome suite. Cannot fault the cleanliness and upkeep particularly the servicing of the room. We loved the spa and Tranquility area and the main pool is pretty spectacular. The main restaurant for breakfast is stunning and a feast to look forward to with a wide range of choice, including Egg chef and a pianist to serenade you over a leisurely breakfast. Although constructed in the late 1970’s it still retains the wow factor and definitely warrants its 5* rating. We played both of the 2 awesome golf courses although found the Gary Player course pretty tough if your ball found its self off the fairway. Special mention must go to Assistant Manager Thabang who couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. We have already booked for next year and was so impressed we are bringing our adult children and grandchild to give them a holiday to remember Read less

The palace is lovely but very tired in places, the floor in the crystal dining room was scuffed and untidy., the doors in the public restrooms where so hard to close and scuffing on the walls, it just looked a little shabby in places. The reception staff RUDE and kept getting our bills wrong and wanted to double charge for the stay even though this was prepaid. Breakfast was included and finishes at 11am my family were turned away at 10:20 as they said no more food was being made, no alternative was offered and no compensation. Even though breakfast could not be offered on the Saturday due to their high demand no refund was offered and no alternative I find this unsatisfactory. The porters at the entrance were lovely and extremely helpful. Sam in the hair salon was lovely and stayed late to do my hair at short notice. The concierge was ok, but then said our safari we had to go to the welcome centre even though the guide said we would be collected from the palace this made it extremely stressful trying not to miss our safari due to incorrect information. The evening buffet on the Friday night was so pityful with a lack of variety for the extortionate price we took one look and walked straight out…. An absolute embarrassment of a buffet. If I could do sun city again- I am not sure it would be at the palace. Read less

One of the best trips we had this year. The pianist in the main restaurant very good. Made our daughter feel like a piano player. Looking forward to the next trip. The food was great, excellent service through the hotel. Pity, the weather wasn’t great, but plenty of activities were available.
