We are currently here on our 5th visit to this wonderful hotel. Stars of your show are your serving staff with a special mention for Lizzy our waitress for 5 years at the pool deck. We ALWAYS ask for her as she always has just the right level of attention to us, she is friendly and happy too. We love the large bedrooms and in room facilities, coffee machine, fridge, bottled water and big bathroom. They do an evening turn down service and leave you sweets on your pillows. Yes it's a little dated in parts but then it is meant to resemble a "grand old palace" though the main breakfast restaurant is currently being refurbished. It is so easy to get on safaris into the Pilanesberg Park from The Palace too. You can book online using Sun City's excellent free WiFi or see the concierge at the beautiful reception area. We will definitely be back soon. Stephen & Tina Jones, Swansea, Wales Read less

This is the second time this year we booked The Palace for a large group. Our second stay in November was nothing short of pathetic. Upon arrival, we were denied access at the main gate. For some reason, unbeknownst to anyone, although I (Melissa) made the booking, the main booking was booked under my 21yo daughter's name!! I have proof and my booking confirmation that I made the booking. The lady had refused to let us in without my daughter (who had nothing to do with the booking process) ID. The next issue started upon checking in. The 6 rooms I booked (and paid - as a treat for our family group) were all incorrect and poorly situated. Beds that were supposed to be singles were queen, and queen beds were single. Views were looking out to walls, etc. We went back and requested other rooms. We were told to 'ask for better rooms upon booking'. Since when? We went for late lunch at the Entertainment Centre (without our promised room credit) as reception was busy trying to rearrange all rooms. Rooms were only sorted after 16h00. Reception then requested all 'old' room keys to be returned and issued new ones. We asked our luggage to be moved to our new rooms. This did not happen. Guests had to arrange their own luggage with porters and scurry around back and forth to reception to get old room keys to assist porters with their own luggage. So luggage was only sorted after 19h30. Very convenient for guests to run up and down on their paid holiday and manage their own luggage transfers. Very 5 star. Transport is also an issue, with small kids and babies we called the +27145574302 at 23h11 after sitting outside the Sun Central No 3 Palace Bus Stop for 35+min post dinner because no transport. We were not informed of renovations at the hotel and breakfast was squeesed into the Villa complex. Water drainage is a problem in room 846. The shower and sink water does not drain. Roomkeeping was average as our water was not replenished at turndown. Went to the concierge to make a booking for dinner at Legends, only to ge told they can not assist, Legends was fully booked. We then decided to go (as a group) and check at the restaurant for ourselves, and low and behold, we were assisted. So, in all, what was supposed to be a lovely relaxing weekend with our family turned into constant issues. Read less

My husband and I stayed in November 2024 and had an amazing experience. The check in was seamless and had friendly staff attending to me. From the minute we walked in, we were treated like royalty. The room was great and had a coffee machine. Was a wonderful stay
