We had room 371 that over looked the beach so we had a nice view when sat on the balcony. Weather was hot everyday only experiencing 2 periods of rain that lasted 5 minutes and were round 19.30 in the evening so didn’t spoil laying on the beach or around the pool.Every member of staff were friendly and very helpful in all areas and polite at all times. A couple of staff need a mention Samantha at meal times and Tiffany serving drinks and making a very good Pina colada but to be fair everyone could do with a mention as they were all so helpful. The food was plentiful and varied and always fresh. All we can advise is have a look at what is available a the buffet before choosing as there is a good choice We will def be back Read less

We stayed as a party of 3 (mum and sisters) from 16th-24th June 2024. All inclusive Upon arrival we were greeted by the front desk with the usual information about hotels, times of breakfast, places to eat and get drinks. We told the front desk that it was my birthday (day of landing and check in) and they said that they would make a note on the system and that they will prepare something for me the next day. We landed at around 1630pm And was told that the afternoon tea was finishing at 5pm if we needed to get a light snack. No welcome drink was offered as they ran out of ice?? which didn't make sense as there was Rachels bar directly opposite...wouldn't take much effort to get us drinks from there to make a good impression...this set the tone for the rest of the holiday. Had to pay $200 US dollar for room hold charge and got back at the end of holiday at check out. They asked about allergies and food intolerances to which we specified my sister does not take dairy milk would prefer ANY alternative to cows milk which they made a note of and the fact our family does not eat beef or pork meat, to which they also noted. Come now to settling to out room we quickly dumped our bags (stayed on 3rd floor near lift as mum had knee problems) and headed down to drifters bar for afternoon tea. It was wrapping up but essentially its biscuits, sandwich's like ham and cheese and egg and chicken ect. and cakes nothing spectacular. We choose not to eat them but again had to ask what was on offer no one guided us. We got 3 rum punches and they were amazing good amount of alcohol to syrup ratio. Dinner time was around 6ish but we went down at 7 and its always the grill at drifters and a buffet style dinner....interestingly we were not told about the buffet so sat down and assumed we would be told about other food on offer but assumed it was grill only. We were told it was only beef burgers and hot dogs on the grill ( but advertised as shrimp burgers, grilled chicken and beef) disappointed we asked what could be done and the chef and waiter were very understanding and tried their best. Gave us spring, rolls hummus on bread with shredded chicken- probably from the buffet. Tired and sleepy we accepted this, had some drinks and headed to sleep. Breakfast is always at rachels and you have to specify where you want to eat dinner...weird for all inclusive but ok.... This time it was supposed to be bbq on the beach (monday) so excited we said we would go for that instead of Rachels (al e cart style) breafast is buffet style..usual english breakfast hasbrowns, toast, bean, sausgage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and omelette station, waffles cereal, fresh fruit (watermelom, berries and orange and grapes- always the same everyday no exotic fruits which is weird as the island is surrounded by mango trees??). Omelette station was not busy the first couple of days but as more guest arrived for the cricket it got hectic with only one chef and 2 stoves. they had the occasional traditional bajan food at the buffet like bajan bites and fish cakes. All day until 11pm you can get drinks at Drifters bar. Rachels is only open at certain times and you cant go there for drinks in the day. The waterfall bar didnt really open unless it was for dinner. Rachels is nice if you want a sit down meal..quality of food is better imo shrimp (only like 4 per meal but essentially the only seafood you will get and calamari starter) the oriental restaurant you can only book on Thursdays is good (wok noodles but didnt have any sushi available which my sister was looking forward to) but again limited option as can only have once. the lack of seafood was frustrating i know you are unlikely to get seafood as its expensive but they had fish but it wasn't to out liking at the buffets (dry and flavourless). The beach BBQ was disappointing it was basically the buffet at drifters but on the beach ( they said grilled chicken but was obviously oven baked no grill flavour) the desserts are frozen and mass produced not very nice. The drinks were good but hit and miss sometimes depending on who makes them as its different people every time. No fresh pulp just syrup, alcohol and ice but fine. i know this review is centred around food but i feel like you should know what your paying for. Other guests didnt eat in the resturants as they didnt like the food and got pizza down the road which we started doing too. Food is very basic: - Drifters (only beef and hot dogs when we said we dont eat either- low season could make effort for guests as not very busy- buffet is like chicken curry- rice chickpea curry salad and nasty desserts. -Rachels Breakfast (basic and will get boring but its a meal) Rachels al a carte - good but not great lack of seafood options and not very flavoursome imo. - Oriental resturant - Best out of bad bunch but limited -drinks- good quality sometimes slow service I feel let down but the lack of non beef options on the grill, wouldnt take much to make your guests happy to chuck a few chicken bits on there. They had fresh fries as well but could be waiting up to 15 mins for those. Had 'chicken' hot dogs but they were much and macerated and pink in colour? wasnt a fan of those. Throughout the whole stay there was NO DAIRY OPTION for my sister! insane that they say they can provide it but dont. Wouldnt take much to have one carton would last a whole week so she could have it at breakfast. Oh and there is no ice cream or lollies ect. The rooms were not decorated for our birthdays and we told them it was our birthday and they just came out with a sparkler on a bit of cake... nice but not great when you have to constantly remind. Pool- not worth getting the lower level unless you have kids - was okay to swim in nothing great. more lounge pool. Beach- rough and had seaweed cant swim in it (well i didnt want to) -- went to Carlise bay most days and its beautiful calm and more blue which is what your paying for. Rooms- great, good king bed for 2 and a single bed for one. 2 floors and 2 bathrooms. TV in each room with netflix and disney plus. Good balcony with amazing deck chairs. AC works brilliantly (well it did in our room) Service- they do try hard BUT some staff are ...rude? dont know if im just overly polite or thats just how they are. Some staff rudely reply in one worded answers and cut you short...not nice. E.G my mum asked about the cricketing noise (which was obviously a deterrent for the insects but wanted to know) and the waiter just rudely replied 'its crickets'. Most staff are friendly and accommodating. More effort could have been made to really WOW guests like not getting a welcome drink that's literally in the bar round the corner is just LAZY...you know when guests are expected and that's just really poor to not have it ready. Currency exchange is lacking some days they have it some days the dont ...have have to wait- asked on morning they said come back in afternoon the said come back in eve....then the guy didnt turn up?? You need cash if your going to oitsins fish friday (which is over hyped btw expensive fish and long line and they ran out of some fish but didnt tell you so waited a hour for nothing) most people went for entertainment and something to do as there isnt much to do at night on the island. Visit the broadway walkway its nice and had nice resturants. Island life literally is island life they are quite relaxed and slow with service in hotels and even in resturants and in KFC. Chefette is their fast food chain and its good. They had burger king as well. The bajan food wasnt very good? like its the first time ive been to the country and literally couldnt find any food i enjoyed... they hype their own bajan food up but its not that great if im honest :( seafood is expensive and street food isnt very good. LASTLY. If you want a fine dining place go to QP bistro. Amazing place. Dont get scammed with TAXI's... just hop on a white van they stop anywhere in bridgetown and even go to the airport for $3.50 Barbados dollars! super cheap we spent £70 for all of us for all 7 days! Overall i wouldnt go back here or if you do just get bed and breakfast its a good location but the facilaties are not all inclusive worthy. The spa was closed, the gym was good but small, pool is basic and only one level (3ft) so if your into swimming not great. ONLY decent thing is the drinks BUT HAVING SAID THAT the open bars are soooooo far away from your room...if your only the 3rd level having to climb down 2 flights of stairs to get a drink is crazy. they dont give u water in the room so buy a bottle and refil in bar or near beach and take with you for night time. there is a lot to read here but if you value your money take the time to read. Other reviews will not tell you what i have. Read less

We revisited the what we thought was paradise, we just concluded a very unwelcoming stay for what is said previously was to be the best hotel on island we cannot comprehend how this hotel has deteriorated to this poor state. From an unwelcoming arrival at the reception to being ignored at breakfast. We have concluded that we will not be back to this hotel. The staff are all looks weary and disgruntle. From the exit of the taxi no bell hop to greet us at the entrance we checked in with Jalisa who we feel should retire from the reception no good welcome and lots of misinformation leaving us very turned around. Her body language was as as we were intruding on her time and space then later ignored and talking but not with us the guest in front her. Marsha tried to help however she is no better. We concluded both need back of house roles as they are not suited to deal with guest. The information they told us was not accurate, which left us turned around and confused. We arranged taxi trips when we came to reception they were not book and had to be booked leaving us late for our activities. The restaurant is very poorly managed and service is the worst we have never experienced. The Management of this hotel needs to go back to training school as it is quite unbelievable it deteriorated to this stage of being so mismanaged. We were always told the General Manager was in a meeting the length on time he takes to deal with guest issues is appalling. None of the issues we reported were ever resolved, we think they need the boot hotel manager. The all inclusive is not all inclusive it is very limited. The rooms are kept clean even though the are in dyer need of modernizing. We will not be back. This hotel is extremely under managed and has the poorest quality of food and beverages We heard many good reviews and we had many good reviews previously however we did not experienced anything close, what a shame. Chris Berverley are just some of the guys who made our trip amazing there are so many more i havent mentioned ! We went all inclusive beach front room and found it excellent value for money. Our room was beautiful, waking up to the sound of the sea every day and going to sleep with the waves crashing was really special. The beach is wild as someone posted but i kinda think well its a natural beach so its gonna be wild! Food was aplenty delicious and a good choice some of the salads were amazing . We were we looked after by everyone and cannot wait to book again for next year to come back and see our new friends!
