Pros: the rooms, the location/beach, the design of the resort and the spa were fantastic. i liked the view from my room, and there were many tranquil spaces to relax. Cons: Unfortunately, almost everything else. Food & beverages were the worst I have ever had at a resort/restaurant. I hate to say this but it had to have been intentionally bad because there is no way the quality was consistently rough across almost all restaurants and bars. The hibachi and a la carte at the Japanese restaurant was the saving grace. The quality of beverages were subpar; perhaps if your plan was to numb your taste buds w liquor then it wouldn't matter. There were not enough spots open for late night snacks and drinks and room service took an hour to arrive (often only after we called at the hour mark). There were a few hiccups with the overall service and quality of customer care but honestly not too bad and completely forgivable. It just felt like this place needs to pickup the standard to match the cost of what you're paying. Takeaway: Had we not been there with a massive group of friends and family to keep us entertained, I would have been very disappointed and regretful of choosing to stay at this resort. If you're looking for a stay that makes you feel refreshed or impressed, please look elsewhere. Read less

- Lively hotel, pretty, but not suitable if you'd like a peaceful, calm break - Firstly, this hotel is immaculate, pretty and the staff are the most helpful, friendly and kind. However, this is not the hotel for you if you want a peaceful, chilled getaway. I should have read the reviews more thoroughly and clocked that this was a lively, noisy hotel. There is music playing by the pool right from the start of the day (c. 8am) and it only increases in volume throughout the day, there is a noisy Zumba class by the pool, aquaerobics, games in the pool, and other than going to your room, you can't really escape the constant music and noise. With 3/4 weddings a day, some nights we could even hear the music pumping until 11 so it felt like we were constantly surrounded by noise. In the evening, the only bars are the lobby and Desires. The lobby is really pretty, an impressive space but it's incredibly loud with a singer and entertainment every night, and we walked into Desires one evening and straight out, it was empty but the music was pumping. If you like an active, lively break, you'll love it, but it wasn't what we were seeking, or expected. The second thing that let's Dreams down is the food. We love our food but, aside from a couple of exceptions, everything just fell short. Food was frequently brought out lukewarm and they serve you with such speed you feel like you can't relax over dinner, one night we had 3 courses and we were fired in and out within an hour. The breakfast buffet is great, no qualms over the range and type of food, but the dinners were largely disappointing, particularly the Mexican. I was looking forward to trying some proper Mexican food, but though the menu may have looked authentic, the actual food was pretty bland, no hint of the spices and flavour you expect from this type of cuisine. Avoid the World buffet in the evening, we went in one night and it was practically empty, the range of food was awful and eveything just felt like it had been sitting around too long. The Italian and French were notable exceptions, the food in the Italian is decent (recommend the saltimbocca) and the French was also good. The hibatchi table was a highlight, the food was fine but the experience was fun. Staff need to be better at enforcing their sunlounger saving rule!! Multiple signs tell you that towels left on loungers for longer than half an hour in the morning would be removed but that is ignored by so many families, who'd take an harmful of towels, dump them on loungers and then disappear for the morning, it's a bit naughty! For balance, the hotel itself is beautiful, the grounds immaculately maintained and lovely to walk around and look out for lizards, coatis, agouti and the occasional raccoon, the gardeners work hard and it's really pretty. The room was nice and kept very clean, and the bed was so comfortable, I slept like a log every night. There was a fun show by the lobby each night with excellent dance performances, we particularly enjoyed the samba and Mexican nights. The staff were fantastic, they made us feel cared for and nothing was too much trouble, we loved Giovanna on the entertainment team and Oskar at the beach. I had a small accident by the pool one day, and the team couldn't do enough to look after me, I saw the doctor and the wound was cleaned and sterilised and I got antibiotics, the staff checked in on me regularly to make sure I was okay, and I really appreciated it, they did a great job. Overall we had a nice holiday, but it wasn't the holiday I was dreaming of, only due to the constant noise and disappointing food. Read less

I had the best trip! Room was clean and had a beautiful view. Preferred club is definitely worth the splurge. The seaside restaurant was always good and service was excellent. Food from specialty restaurants was mediocre but buffet and room service was amazing!

Fantastic service all around at this resort. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Food was excellent at all the restaurants! Views from the pool were breathtaking. You can't go wrong booking here! Lobby bar was wonderful after a nice dinner.

The room is so so , perks of preferred are worth it but with a child , the room was wayyyyyy too noisy at night . I’m talking blaring music until 2am . Lots of guests complained about this . Great place for a wedding or if you like being up late drinking and partying but not a great place for a family . Giovanna is amazing , the entertainment staff is amazing . Le Petite Chef was incredible and my child loved it . Read less
