Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

This was our second trip to this resort with the first being in April 2023. We are glad we came back as the staff, although many changed, were amazing and went above and beyond once again. The staff and customer service is what we find separates this resort from others we have experienced. And for this area of Mexico, they do the best job in maintaining the beach and removing the seaweed. We walked the beach in both directions and again, this resort is miles above others in keeping the seared at bay. It even stands out above the Dreams Sapphire just down the beach. We want to give and extra shout out to some individual staff members although everyone was super friendly and provided excellent service. It all started at check-in with Rafael at the Preferred Club check-in. He was informative, friendly and took care of a few questions we had. Also the next day we asked if we could move from a double bed room to a king for one of our family members and he helped us out immediately. A couple other times we had a few minor questions and requests and he was professional and super helpful. Next up was the amazing pool concierge team with Jesus, Cristian and Enrique. All three were super fun, attentive and were always checking in the guests to ensure they had what they needed for their vacation. Also a shout out for how they deescalate any complaints from other guests. It’s amazing what they put up with at times and they always leave the guests with a smile. The sunglasses cleaning, cold water/eucalyptus massages were great. The whole family took advantage of this every chance they could. All three were attentive to details and ensured everyone at the pool and beach had an enjoyable experience. Along with the pool concierge team, the entire activity team were excellent and did a great job getting the guests to participate and mingle. My personal shout goes to Mauricio Chi and his team along with Jonathan. The others were amazing but unfortunately I have forgotten a few names but I am sure the rest of the family will include more names in their reviews. The lobby bar service was great as always and Enrique and Clever were familiar faces from last time and continued their awesome service. I would like to mention that Enrique has a knack for remembering every guests name and calls them out correctly each time you come to the bar for a drink. Only negative to the lobby bar is the lack of air movement through the beautiful lobby area. Last time we were there, they had large ceiling fans which made a big difference. I few some people left in the evenings as it was just too hot. For some reason, although breezy, nothing blows through the lobby. Other than that is is a great place to relax and have a great drink. Entertainment and service was always excellent. During the day we had great service by the pool and the bar by all staff. Extra shout out to the preferred area bar at the beach. Stumbling to remember the name of the one bartender we enjoyed chatting with and who made excellent drink but Alejandra rings a bell. Of course who can’t speak highly of Davis and Vincente at the Mexican Restaurant. Was definitely the families favourite experience and we popped in several times to have a snack, drink and a great time and several laughs. By far the best two servers we had in the evenings at any of the restaurants. Reading reviews, you hear complaints about the food from some guests. This is an all inclusive resort and not a five star Michelin restaurant. They food is great if you move around and look for items you enjoy. You are on vacation and the food is fine for what you would expect. We have been to several countries and several resorts and I can say that the food and drinks are above average and have much more variety. The ability to do Al’ a carte each evening and without reservations along with 24/hr room service, I have nothing but great things to say about the food and the food options. Pool and beach are top tier and the service is beyond excellent. We will be back for a third time. Read less

This review is for the Seaside restaurant, where we had breakfast everyday during our week long stay. They have great food options and were able to accommodate our family needs, as we were traveling with a 2yo and a 6month baby. Our waiter, Santos, was very attentive, remembering what we typically ordered (carajillos at the end), offering to request the chefs (Mayra and Fabiola) to prepare baby food, and offering to plan a special breakfast on the beach on our last day. The hostess, Estela, was great ensuring we had an able promptly (specially appreciated by the kids) and the manager, Abraham, was also very attentive and made sure we were comfortable and out of the sun during our breakfast on the beach. "If I could turn back time" would be how I felt after another fantastic week at DRC. We have been at this resort for MANY years and again they just keep getting better and better! The service we received at Seaside Grill from Estella, Arsenio, Santos & Enrique was again superior and very much appreciated! The manager, Abraham, is kind, caring and very hard working, doing everything possible to make our visit home, the very best! Cynthia at Oceana was always very pleasant and accommodating to everyone! As for refreshments and staying hydrated at the pool, Victor. Lenary, Isreal and Daniella did an awesome job! At night, we dined at Portofino. Teo and Pedro served us and treated us like royalty. (The 2 best waiters you could possibly have). These two men and their manager Reider made our dining memorable and delicious. Now, to top off our trip, Jessica and Cezar nailed it!!!! We had a night of memories, along with the entire restaurant singing "Stand By Me!" for our anniversary. We both left Portofino stating, "that was the nicest thing anyone has done!" Need we say more! One more shout out to Gadriel at the front desk. He was very polite and willing to help with check out and made sure we were completely satisfied with our stay. So again...If I Could Turn Back Time! Our family joined others for a wedding. Always had activities though out the stay. Food options were above average for a resort, and restaurants and all staff was very nice. Tequila tasting with Victor, Angie and Alex was great for the last day surprise by the pool! Only disappointment was the closest elevator was out of service during our stay. If you are going to book ask for a low floor in building two or a different one. Read less
