It’s built in stunning Mayan architectural style, fitting in well with the dazzling tropical location. There are standout facilities for adults and kids alike; the Dreams Spa offers seven treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit with sauna, steam room, showers, Jacuzzi, dynamic pool and an outdoor relaxation area. And whilst you're there, time flies for the kids at the Explorer's Club with board games and video games to keep them busy, sandcastle contests and arts and crafts. We stayed a week in an Indigo Suite. The Good … The resort is beautiful. We enjoyed the pool areas and activities. We loved our room. The entire upstairs Indigo pool area was beautiful. Everyone at the resort was friendly and helpful. The staff were always trying to help. There were 6 of us. We stayed in different areas of the resort so we got to see a lot. They kept the beaches clean of seaweed daily. Event staff went out of their way to interact and get you involved. Staff did an excellent job. The Bad … The food is awful. The choices for food are poor and the quality is terrible. We ate in every restaurant and buffet. I can't say that I loved anything I ate. The fresh eggs at the egg station were always done well. We are in Mexico and even the Mexican place was bad. None of the people in our group liked the food there. I had fajitas which were edible but not great. ( Ate fajitas in the local town and they were out of this world). The French place was awful. Again everyone disliked that place. We had different items from the menu so it wasn't that. The burgers in the Pool restaurant was not edible. The only burger I saw that looked good was only available with Bluecheese ( sorry I can't do that). Very disappointing. The buffet was ok. They have grill options available so I did some of that. The best meals we had were when we went off resort and into town. The food there was terrific. We didn't eat in fancy places off site but it tasted so much better. We travel a lot and paid good money for this trip. IMO they ruined the experience with their restaurants. Across the restaurants there are a lot of common dishes. I had trouble finding stuff I would like. Then when I found things I would eat they were prepared poorly. We travel a lot. On cruises you are there all week and always can find something good to eat. Sadly not in this Hyatt. There are no reservations in the dining areas except for the Hibachi. There are signs which say you can't reserve pool chairs but by 7am they all have towels on them being reserved with nobody in sight for hours. Why have a rule if you don't enforce it? The only thing I saw enforced was to keep people out of Indigo area that are not registered there. The Ugly … Be careful with the ATM's. We needed peso's off property. When we did an excursion to buy food you needed pesos. The ATM there only provided USD. They even tacked an additional $20 fee to change currency. The ATM on the resort only provided USD too. I don't know if it charge that outlandish fee. But seriously we booked excursions and then get ripped off.. Finally … So I am sorry to write this review. We own in Hyatt. We love staying in Hyatts. Hyatt is usually high end. Hyatt should come in and revamp the food service in this place. Even the staff knew the food was bad! Two of my family members had stayed a few days at another Hyatt resort prior to this stay and they told us the food there was so much better. It is not representative of 5 star. Would I go back? Sadly no. I would never pay this much and struggle to find things to eat or have to make an effort to leave the resort to find good food. Read less

Very nice relaxing stay during the last week of April. Customer service makes the vacation and Dreams people at the Sapphire are over the top. A special mention to Mar, the pool and grounds entertainment coordinator, who made our stay lively and enjoyable. First rate lady!

We had a great time. The room was kept clean and tidy. The swim out pool was cleaned daily and the access was priceless for our 1 year old when he was fussy and didn’t want to be in the big pools. We loved the restaurants and enjoyed the World Cafe. The breakfast crew, Wendy, Dyana, and Ivan, were very special and sweet to our little one and kept him giggling. The activity coordinators, Hanya, Monica, and Joel were a lot of fun, checked in with us daily, and kept the pool area partying. Basilio, Cecilia, and Mariana at the front desk and lobby were also amazing and we really appreciated their help checking in and answering our questions. We had a great spa experience with Jauna doing the hydrotherapy circuit and left feeling relaxed. The landscaping crew was also top notch. Edging the walkways, sweeping the sidewalks, raking the sand, and raking the vegetation out of landscaped areas across the resort. The walkways and entire resort felt so clean and cared for. We will definitely return. Thanks so much for a great trip. Read less
