The hotel is a class act, with good restaurants and bars, and lovely staff. It is situated in a gorgeous bay, with boats of all kinds at anchor. Exceedingly picturesque and peaceful. The couple that came with us on the minibus from the airport said they chose the hotel after an earlier trip to St Lucia when they had come into the bay on an around the island cruise. It is probably the prettiest place on the island. The hotel is perched on the steep side of the bay. There is a lot of climbing and using stairs. Our room was 75 steps (and a few slopes) from the swimming pool. It’s about the same change in height from the pool level to the sea level. We, my 2 adult daughters and me, were OK with the climb, but others may find it a problem. We were higher up though than most. I don’t remember the description mentioning that climbing was involved. Our room was very chic. It was termed a residence and had a very swish kitchen, dining and seating area, with a separate double ensuite bedroom. The drawback is that the sleeping arrangements included a stylish but uncomfortable sofa divan in the living area. Another drawback to go to the bathroom meant going through the bedroom where my daughters slept. The balcony overlooking the bay was a scenic way to start the day, or have a sundowner. We had the services of a butler. I am not sure what the verb to buttle actually involves, but the service was from charming capable staff providing a super concierge service. Very helpful. The main swimming pool is not very big. Although it has a delightful bar. In the evening the swimming pool seems like a cocktail lounge full of people cooling down over drinks. The smaller swimming pool is not very big. It was quite amusing to see a rush to dive in the pool when there was a shower. There is a shuttle service ferrying to the public beach across the bay. The beach is not exceptional and you can get pestered by hawkers. There are paddleboarding and kayak, etc. options. There are 5 a la carte restaurants and room service. The hotel is all-inclusive so that you have the choice of where to eat and drink. There are separate bar areas near the restaurants. All the ingredients are top quality and fresh. Everything is cooked to order so there is a wait to be served, but worth it. All the food we had excelled. The only drawback was the stress of deciding what to eat, and where to eat. I would have been happy to go to any of the restaurants for a special meal. (You can see the restaurants and menus on the Hyatt App.) The restaurants were a Grill, Italianate, a seaside bar with international and St Lucian options, a restaurant that you had to book for evening meal, and the poolside restaurant. One night we had the starter in the Cove Restaurant, then up one flight for the main course in 1461, then back for pudding in the Cove. I told you deciding what to choose from the menus was difficult. The poolside restaurant had a fine range of food and the sushi and seafood were particularly welcome. Fish and chips/fries using the local dolphinfish was a revelation. Very tasty. What was remarkable were the wines included in the all-inclusive - very high quality. Think business class on a decent airline for the red and white wine options. The ‘champagne’ was perfectly quaffable in the sunshine. Although I probably only had gin in the spirits line, my daughters had cocktails and they were very palatable. So, I think the spirits selection is most acceptable. Local beer is tasty and always served cold. The entertainment is simple but fun. Rum tasting, cookery lessons, Pilates and yoga etc. My daughters enjoyed the exercise classes. There is a good gym and spa. Evening entertainment is a singer or musician at the 1461 area. Most diners seemed to enjoy it, though we three sometimes found the noise intrusive. The guests are mostly North Americans and British and there is a good atmosphere with everyone getting along. The poolside bar in the early evening is friendly and informal. Difficult to be formal in your swimwear. I mention drawbacks. But for us, the climbing and the small swimming pool were not a problem. The staff work hard/are worked hard. The staff that work at breakfast are then back at the pool restaurant etc. They were all pleasant, efficient, friendly and cheerful. I emphasise that it is the staff that makes the hotel special. Zoetry Marigot Bay St. Lucia is the romantic getaway you didn’t know you needed! The property is beautiful and nestled in lush well kept gardens on one side and a beautiful Bay on the other. You will love the view it is breathtaking. The rooms are well laid out, well kept and based on the design, you feel like you’re going to your own private villa as each balcony is private. Rooms are both spacious and comfy and our room was a slice of paradise. The beach is clean, with lots of free water activities provided to all guests but if you’re anything like me and you like to enjoy the water and lounge with a good book and drinks, you will be well taken care of by the beach concierge who will make sure you have everything you need. Amenities are top tier from the spa to outdoor yoga, and there are so many beautifully decorated spaces on this resort to capture memories of your stay. Dining is incomparable. A la carte dining at its finest. food was delicious, elegantly plated, with many options to choose from. Not to mention the rum cave and the cafe. If you’re looking for your food to be served in a rush or a buffet this type of luxury is not for you. Staff - I have travelled to many Islands and I have not received service like this in a long time. Friendly, happy, accommodating, well trained staff that are eager to make your stay the best possible. I received motivational notes from the lovely women who cleaned our room to surprise desserts with notes of well wishes at the table. A few of the staff you have to meet: Kaleb will take great care of you at the pool bar. No need to know what you want, he will make you something special. Marina will serve you at the restaurants- she is lovely, when I said I was craving mangoes she brought me some from home the next day! I forgot the charger for my phone and Morrison loaned me his for the whole week! And Kaydi from front desk made sure I had everything I needed at all times. We can’t wait to go back. Treat yourself, you won’t regret it. Highlights: Luxury, romantic, culinary excellence Read less
