Holiday Ao Nang Beach Resort, Krabi

We spent 4 nights and location was very nice and close to the main Ao Nang tourist area and restaurants and pool was kids friendly but I downgrade this hotel because Lobby was locked down and small office nearby restaurant act as a reception also the breakfast was basic with little selections and tables always full and area was crowded. Unfortunately house keeping was the worst experience and they forgot to clean my rooms twice ! Also Wifi network doesn’t reach our rooms ! . It is not 5 stars resort for sure. But general speaking people working there were so humble and helpful. Read less

I stayed at this hotel in April with my children and enjoyed it so returned in July with my children and wife so that she could enjoy it. This hotel is not what it was even a few months ago. The lobby and previous restaurant area is a building site where you cannot even enter from thus having been dropped off by our taxi we had to then walk a way down the street with our luggage to the new lobby, situated in what I'm told is a vacated restaurant. When asked why I wasn't sent a message to advise of the change via email I was given no reason. One of the reasons we were looking forward to returning was the impressive breakfast we had experienced before, the manager I spoke to briefly assured me it was exactly the same as before. I was sceptical as the space is no where near the same size. I was correct to be sceptical as the selection is far smaller than it was previously. What is more the first table we were offered was only a few metres away from the street and the second could only be described as a child's table as it was so low (did they run out of regular sized tables?). There are other consequences of shutting an entire building of the hotel but I think I have painted a picture. The only staff member who has done anything other than generic apologies was the gentleman who offered us the seats, he did to be fair then find us another table and offer to have pancakes (which were part of the offering previously and something we had promised our son's they could have) made especially for them, the other staff members, if I'm being honest and in my opinion, seemed agitated that I would be upset that the hotel is not as advertised. Living locally in SEA this was our go to hotel for short breaks, no longer. P.S. I wonder if I'll get the same generic response the hotel has given the last couple of customers who raised the same concerns, especially as I have already highlighted these issues directly to staff to no avail. Currently under renovation, the lobby is tucked away in a back room behind the restaurant. This makes it a pretty average introduction to the resort. There is a constant stream of bewildered travelers dragging thier luggage through the restaurant wondering out loud if they are in the right place. The rooms are spacious but sparse and in need of some maintenance. Blocked shower heads, poor drainage, lights not working - the usual suspects - but not for price tag of this resort. A free Mini bar, stocked daily, seems to be an attempt at compensation. The restaurant is small and basic, meals are ok but there are plenty of other options. The pool was great but again showing signs of age. What was particularly annoying was the near constant music: a sort of Thai techno-dub covering of "pop classics" played at volume clearly audible in your room. The kind of music not noticed by most, except those few who will be driven mad by it. Asking to have the music turned down was only temporary - the volume soon returned. The resort is marketed as family friendly, the music was what you would expect at backpacker hostel. Read less
