Where is it

Located on Madeira Beach, just west of St. Petersburg on the Gulf Coast of Florida. 2 blocks away from John’s Pass Village with it’s many shops, restaurants, and bars. Distance from Tampa International Airport: 26.5 miles. 

Hotel information

73 rooms consisting of single-space studios with compact kitchenettes, and suites with fully equipped kitchens. All with private balconies, cable TV, air conditioning, and complimentary WiFi access. Poolside Studios are 350sq ft consisting of a single space that includes 1 king-size bed and 1 sofa bed, a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, toaster, and coffee-maker. Sleeps maximum 4 people when utilising the sofa bed.

Please note: as this is a self-catering hotel, housekeeping services will not be included in your stay.

The Beachfront Studios are 320sq ft consisting of a single space that includes a queen-size bed, a sofa bed, and a small kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, sink, toaster, and a coffee-maker. These studios offer views of the Gulf of Mexico, sleeps maximum 3 people. 

Two Bedroom Partial Gulf View Suites are 850sq ft and are located on floors 2-4, with an equipped kitchen including oven and dishwasher, washer and dryer unit, separate living room, and two bedrooms each with a HDTV. One bedroom features a king-size bed, the other bedroom features a queen-size bed with a sofa bed in the lounge, sleeping maximum 6 people.

I have given this 3 stars as the hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishment and that was not unknown. They are putting in new lifts at back and also renovating building at front so, there was heavy drilling and cutting of metal all day. On some days starting at 7am. I have given this 3 stars as the hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishment and that was not unknown. They are putting in new lifts at back and also renovating building at front so, there was heavy drilling and cutting of metal all day. On some days starting at 7am. We were there a week and from Thursday - Sunday you could not lie at pool or on balcony for the noise. It also meant they had shut their bar and any place you could get water etc. during the day. We absolutely would not have stayed if we had known the extent of work on going. We did raise it with staff but they seemed only to agree it was a nuisance. I would advise you check the state of repairs before booking. Once complete - which looks like being well past summer ! Then hotel is well located. Read less

The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated with modern amenities. The hotel's facilities such as the pool and outside grilling area were top-notch, providing a perfect way to relax and unwind. The location was also convenient, with easy access to John’s Pass which had everything we could ask for in a shopping plaza. The beach was second to none. Quiet with clear water and soft sand. One of our favorite beaches we have been too. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay. 5 stars all the way! Read less

This is a gem of a location. This hotel has everything you need for a slightly longer stay. You walk off the property and your feet are right there in the sand. This is a return visit for us to Madeira Beach. Last time we also stayed at Barefoot on the Beach. I called the day before our arrival to ask if we got there before check in could we park our car and get lunch then wait to hear when our room was ready. We were told “ of course you can we will text you when it is ready. This was the first pleasant surprise. We checked in at 11:00 and were told our room was ready. Nice! We had booked the poolside King and it was clean and updated since our last stay years before. The pool was extremely clean, towel service was easy . The location is so convenient to shopping, and restaurants. We had an issue with a slow draining bathroom sink. We reported it and someone came to fix it within the hour. Any time we want another visit to the gulf this is where we will again book our stay. Thank you to the management of Barefoot on the Beach Club. Read less

Excellent resort friendly reception staff with an easy fast check in. Plenty of parking. Loved the location to John pass for evening food and drinks to walk to. Clean room great sea view. Kitchenette with fridge and microwave for snacks. Clean rooms. Great pool nice and chilled.Would highly recommend if staying around the gulf.
