Entry requirements: Traveller declaration form submitted within 72 hours (recommended time) both pre-departure and pre-return, submitted electronically via IMUGA. Each member of your party including children must complete the form. You must take a photo or screenshot of the QR code on completion of the form.
Restrictions on alcohol: Passengers travelling to Maldives will not be allowed to bring in any alcohol. Airport duty sales will decline sales if you have a Maldives boarding pass.

When to go
The Maldives enjoys a tropical climate that is consistently hot and often humid. The driest months are between December-April, so that's when you'll see the longest hours of sun and the warmest, dreamiest days. Lucky for you, Virgin Atlantic will fly to the Maldives direct, all winter long from October 2024.
Island transfers
Look out for us or someone from your hotel who will take you to your departure point. If the weather isn’t playing ball or there are lots of flight arrivals, you may not be able to leave straight away. If you are flying, you may need to wait up to 3 hours. Seaplanes only operate when it’s daylight, so you may need to spend a night at an airport hotel. Seaplane and domestic aircraft luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage per person. Excess may be charged and/or carried later.
