I was part of a group of 12 golfers travelling from the UK. On arrival at around 9am we were given a refreshing drink and cold wet flannel, along with a quick explanation of the facilities. We were then shown to breakfast, which was part of the all inclusive although we did not check-in formally until 2pm. Very much appreciated. All of our rooms were the most basic junior suites, but were perfect for us. Large and comfortable single beds, plenty of space and a clean and large bathroom. A small terrace to also enjoy the sunshine. The food was always pretty good. Breakfast was busy, but the team had set aside a table of 12 for us every morning (as they did for our evening buffets too). Food choices at breakfast and at the evening buffets were always varied, but I imagine after a couple of weeks (we were there for just 7 nights), it could get a little repetitive. The a la carte restaurants were all good, our favourite being ‘chopsticks’. We booked in advance although they never seemed to be full. We played golf at Ile aux Cerfs and Anahita. Both about a 30 minute journey, with transfers arranged with the hotel. Both courses are excellent, albeit you will appreciate Ile aux Cerfs the more you play it (it is very quirky and not just a ‘hit it and rip it course’). The lads at the bar (Shores) looked after us all week, with service being quick and efficient. They also put the Arsenal v Bournemouth game on the TV, which made for a rather excellent evening after an away victory for the mighty Cherries. For us, the hotel was perfect. And we would recommend it to any golfers wanting a break and the challenge of Ile aux Cerfs especially. Read less

I want to start off with the positive and also to mention all the things that went right for our wedding and family vacation. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by all the staff, given cool towels and a refreshing drink. Our check-in experience was easy and we were also surprisingly upgraded to a sea facing suite. The reception staff were amazing, they explained everything and showed us our rooms and also gave us a little tour of the resort. Vindiya(hope i remember correctly) was exceptionally helpful. Jason and team on the buggy’s made sure we always had a ride to wherever we needed to be. At the buffet (Ben, Celine, Sameya, Elvis) you guys always made sure we had everything we needed - I wish I remembered the other staff names that stood out to me, will definitely write another review when I do. Tides bar the waiters for us were always accommodating, Shivam greeted with a smile and remembered our drinks and preferences. The cleaning lady Sarah was incredibly caring and she knew us by names! She always put an effort into making those restrooms look and smell lovely. The Glow spa ladies were amazing, I was taken care of as the bride to be - I can’t remember the name of the lady who did my body wrap and Hamam treatment but she did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable even when there were another couple who had booked and ended being in the same room as me(which wasn’t supposed to happen) A special shout out to Sharonne who knew exactly what I wanted with my hair and makeup and she delivered, this was one part of my special day that did not go wrong! She is very talented and patient, I was extremely happy and sad I didn’t get to see her before I had left the hotel to thank her in person. Some of the other team that stood out for us: Kumar at the shores bar within a day of meeting us (we were a big group) knew almost everyone’s drink preferences including the kids. He always had a smile even at 2am in the morning. Vinny at our wedding made special mixology drinks 🍷 for our guests they were extremely impressed to say the least. Overall if this wasn’t such a big event for us I would’ve have gladly given the hotel 5/5 and forgotten about all the hiccups. What went wrong: From day 1 of our wedding planning we were not accommodated, at some point during the 6 months of decision making we had decided we wanted to move our wedding to a different venue, however being a busy period in Mauritius it was extremely difficult 😞 While the weather was out of the hotels control, we would’ve loved if they could’ve taken our suggestions into consideration, we paid a lot of money to have our guest there and to use the Bombora facility. I requested that our wedding arch be set up on the terrace - we were just given a very harsh cold NO. Already disappointed that we would not be using the green lawns(which was paid for) we thought we could at least have a better scenery on the terrace. Our vendors (Carte Abricot) did an amazing set up for us indoors and were very accommodating during the whole process. Almost 40 of our guest stayed at the hotel On the all inclusive package- the hotel did not even offer us a special package or discount. While we understand that this is supposedly a 5 star hotel, for this specific event we did not receive 5 star service and as the couple we were quite disappointed at how the event was handled. The set up and cleaning of the venue was as delayed, so our guest had to wait at shores bar before the wedding ceremony started, and although we had paid for the non-guest to have a drinks package some of them were charged at the bar which shouldn’t have happened. The buggy’s don’t have covers on the sides, we drove to reception on the buggy as there was a storm and I got wet before I arrived( which is every brides nightmare) There was supposed to be a drinks station outside on the terrace - it was never set up. The co-ordination of the event was off( the djs had to be reminded which songs to play when, bearing in mind I had mapped out a whole programme before, and a few changes were made inbetween Which was communicated. The drinks for the toast were not poured on time. Our MC had to keep reminding the staff and dj what to do when. We had given specific music to be played, it was not followed for the ceremony and the reception which was quite sad. Our co-ordinator was no where to be found and as the couple getting married we did not need the additional stress of managing the event. It seems that the hotel did not put as much effort in because we used an external vendor for the decor. Which is quite sad as we had to pay a lot of money for “service” at the wedding I think that we did not get exceptional service on our special day. Also given that the event started later than expected we would’ve appreciated extra time afterwards but at exactly 23h00 the event was cut off. We have to commend the food, as we had an amazing buffet setup and the chef was also so kind to keep our wedding cake for dinner the next day! We were promised a “romantic” dinner and had to call to confirm where this was happening the Saturday, it wasn’t really what we expected as I thought it would be setup on the beach or away from other people, it was held at the tides restaurant with a few other couples, the menu options were nothing to write home about. And lastly - being on the all inclusive package you don’t expect to have to pay for additional coffee pods or certain drinks at a bar, even certain snacks in the mini bar fridge. Sadly our rooms were not cleaned and turned around, we had to keep asking for this, and even after the cleaning was done- the baths were full of sand, our sheets were not changed and our room did not look clean - only on the day of the wedding we had a proper cleaning. Overall I don’t think this hotel can handle large weddings, so if you’re planning to have one with 50+ guest my opinion is to find an external wedding planner in Mauritius. If you want a wonderful holiday you have come to the right place. We came as 3 couples. Ok so check in is a bit slow but they welcome you with a cool flannel & a much needed drink. We had booked junior suite with beach view & we were not disappointed. I defiantly had a ‘wow’ moment! From the start the majority of staff greeted you smiling and genuinely. We had great service from so many staff but get we had to mention those who especially shone out to us. Valerie who served us in Tides & Le Marche. Ben (ask him for a springbok), Elvis & Ravi in Le Marche. Edward & Askay who were so attentive at the infinity pool. Shiva, Srivarshan & Harishwar ( we named him smiley young man) who worked tirelessly at the bars & the lovely lady Sarah who kept those ladies toilets immaculate & beautifully decorated with flowers who went to the trouble to learn our names & greet us personally every time she saw us. We ate at all the restaurants & never had a bad meal. Quality of drinks was very good. I personally had white wine, sparkling wine, gin & sprite, caramel rum & pineapple juice & the beer. We had a few rain showers & in-fact one day when it just rained all day we had to spend the day in Shores Bar 😀 Even when it rained it was so hot & humidity very high so bring higher factor sunscreen. Can not comment on the main pool as did not spend any time there. We were lucky to always get a pod or two at the Infinity pool which overlooks the beach. Must dos are snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding & pedaloes (all of which are free. Just head to the boathouse on the beach. If you do feel brave, pay to do the para sailing. It was a brilliant experience. If you are thinking of doing the underwater walk do not book through Tui as we did as we later found out it would have cost about £50 cheaper to do through the boathouse but please please do it as one of the most amazing things I have ever done. I may have left loads of other good things out but it really was such a wonderful holiday. Read less

Nothing was too much trouble. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The food is generally excellent. I deducted a star because the hotel struggled to cope with the peak Easter week. Peak customers tend to pay a peak price, so expectations are high. There was a noticeable amount of grumbling going on! The evening restaurant service became very slow, particularly in Sapori and Tides. My husband struggled to cope with the combination of heat and waiting - its lovely to eat al-fresco (so air-con isnt possible) but fans would make it more comfortable. The pool got very murky and yucky (think LOTS of kids and suncream!) - could be easily fixed by eagle-eyed staff. I think its a shame we were charged to drink water at dinner (we were on half-board). We were given 2 bottles of complementary water in our room daily, but this was forgotten on most days, especially when the resort got busier. This hotel is located on a lovely stretch of beach - you can walk for miles along the beach in either direction. We'd definitely go again! Read less
