Stayed April 3–4, 2025, for our daughter’s birthday and had an amazing time. Great value for money—spacious ocean-view room, relaxing spa, and warm, attentive service. Special thanks to Mr. Nursoo. the F&B manager, for the personal touches that made the celebration unforgettable. Highly recommended for a memorable, affordable getaway!

First impressions were good, the lobby is lovely and check in reasonably efficient despite asking me to fill in a form (including email, address and signature!) for our 6 year old son. We had a Tamassa family room which was a good layout but the top bunk didn’t fill me with confidence as the ladder was pretty awkward so we didn’t feel comfortable with our son sleeping up there no matter how much he pleaded. The decor is tired as mentioned in most reviews with mould under the air con unit and the mini fridge needing replacement but the room itself was ok and in line with the budget. The service? Where to begin… we’ve experienced bad service in our time but this was truly terrible. One evening we had to order drinks 3 times giving our room number 5 times waiting 20 minutes to get a drink from the bar. It started off as a bit of a laugh but soon got extremely tiresome to the point we didn’t bother going to the main bar, instead preferring the smaller bar where you actually got a drink. The bad service wasn’t limited to the bar, the room was serviced very inconsistently, we ran out of hand wash after 2 days which was never topped up, one day the towels were completely taken and we were left without any for 3 hours. Not the end of the world but pretty annoying given we had come back early from the beach to have a shower and get dressed early for some nice sun set pictures. Other failings - got the wrong packed lunch order, the pools were in disrepair to the point that all of us cut our feet but the worse was yet to come. Somehow my wife managed to contract food poisoning (most likely ciguatera from the fish) and ended up in hospital, 90 mins in a taxi away at great expense. There is no chance it wasn’t caught in the hotel as it was 7 days until the holiday and we ate food from no other source. In the hotels defence they did everything they could to help including a free late check out but after this happened the holiday was ruined. Have contacted the agent (Emirates) but yet to hear back. I don’t trust the general hygiene levels at the hotel having seen poor practice in the bar and other areas. It’s a shame as the location is magnificent, some of the staff lovely but it was let down by poor management of the basics. Would give anything to go back and book somewhere else and recommend others to do the same. Read less

We have just returned as a family of 4 from Tamassa resort. We booked this special holiday to celebrate our 50th birthdays and 20th wedding anniversary. We were a bit concerned after reading some negative reviews (mainly about rooms needing a refurb and noisy day visitors) but we seriously needn’t have worried. We arrived at 10am expecting to have to wait for check in at 2pm but both of our rooms were ready ! Ishna showed us to our rooms and she was an absolute delight!! In fact all staff were super friendly, helpful and remembered our room number within a couple of days. Our room was so clean, excellent aircon, excellent wifi and really comfy giant bed (we stayed in a superior room) and we’re positioned right next to a large pool and 2 mins walk from the beach. We had amazing extras for our anniversary, a gorgeous breakfast on the beach, bottle of bubbles delivered to our room and an excellent 6 course meal in the evening. The spa !!!!!! So relaxing, with the best pool and comfy beds. My husband had a massage which he said was excellent !! Food in general was very good. Lots of curries with all the accompaniments like naan etc pizza and a pasta bar and quite refreshingly no chips !!! If you are craving chips you can get them from the burger van next to the pool. We can highly recommend a trip to the Vallee des Couleurs about 15 mins away in a taxi where there are amazing zip lines and a quad bike trek through jungle and waterfalls. Sylvester also sorted us out with a fishing trip which we booked at the boathouse on the beach. We were thoroughly impressed with the entire resort (gardeners working tirelessly to make the grounds look immaculate) and any small problem was rectified immediately (eg a small leak from our sink). We have been back in the uk for a week now and are still buzzing from our trip and we miss the smily staff and beautiful surroundings. Our flight home was cancelled and we had to arrange an extra nights accommodation, Ayush at guest services was very helpful and put us at ease. Also a special mention to Ram who oversaw all the rooms - he was so friendly and gave us a history lesson and some interesting facts about Mauritius ! We hope to be back in the future 😃 Read less
