We booked 2 nights at the Cedar Lodge and the room and site was fantastic, one of the best places we stayed on our 2 week california road trip. But on the morning of our ONLY whole day in Yosemite, my partner got terrible food poisoning from the hotel breakfast buffet. Within minutes of eating 1 sausage he had the runs. At first he thought it was just too rich and he didn't agree with it so we headed out for a hike. We drove about an hour into yosemite, stopping by every toilet on the way (of which there were many, well done Yosemite National Park!). But an hour up and we had to stop for him to be violently sick. We then headed back down slowly with lots of stops taking around 3 hours with him being sick and needing to rest. After probably 18 hours sleep his tummy was better but his body was completely shattered. So on our last day before heading back to LA, we managed a tiny hike from Yosemite valley to the falls view point (a 10min walk which took us an hour there and back because he was still so tired) I complained to the hotel staff and eventually one of the restaurant managers was able to talk to me. They could only refund us the breakfast, wouldn't do anything about the £400+ spent on a hotel in Yosemite wasted because we couldn't hike like we wanted to. Read less

We changed our lodging to Cedar Lodge because of proximity to the VALLEY of Yosemite. The room was clean, and comfortable , plenty of parking and we loved the walkway paths across the road by the water. The down side was food is limited. A buffet for breakfast down the red was $22.

I feel like this hotel doesn’t get enough love in the reviews for the fact its location, price and amenities fit exactly as they should in proximity to Yosemite. We had a room with a balcony looking out to the front and although it was an older building it was clean. The diner has limited options but they are done well, the fish basket and Angus burger were both lovely and although the barmaid didn’t seem to know what she was doing, it just meant we got it to go the second time and ate it on our balcony. 10 minutes drive from a market, a pizza place and other restaurant at a different hotel and not much further then from entry to Yosemite. The staff were lovely and I’m sure in season when it’s fuller the breakfast is a bit fresher. The syrup had started to caramelise but the spread had what you’d expect. We did it the first morning but then got some muesli and milk from the market which worked fine. They’ve made a lot of effort with places to sit by the river and take in the nature over there. I think we found the perfect place to stay. Read less

Hotel room was not that great. Even with paid WiFi the connection was so bad. I would say it’s just average. The whole experience was not good. It could be improved so that guests can enjoy a restful night.
