The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Location wise this hotel is excellent. It is so close to the Sphere, the High Roller, Caesars, the Bellagio fountains etc. The pool area was very fun and the casino and lobby washrooms were clean and friendly. However, our GO Rooms were awful. We were there with several families and we all had the same experience. Our particular room was floor 21 with a strip view, which I paid extra for. One of our friends was our neighbour next door and paid no extra for the same view. It’s worth noting that the cost of the rooms basically triple after you pay resort fees and tax. The biggest issue was that the rooms were dirty and very rundown. So bad that we didn’t even allow housekeeping in our room while we were there with our stuff in the room. We walked to CVS and bought our own hand soap etc and thankfully I had read some reviews ahead of time and brought garbage bags and lysol wipes to wipe things down before we unpacked. Even the towels had staining. It was a big let down because the property has a lot of potential, but the lack of cleanliness and how rundown all of our rooms were was unacceptable. I hope Caesars invests some money into the property to help it achieve it’s potential. Read less

Soaking wet carpets in our room when we checked in! They weren’t gonna give us a new room and finally they did. Don’t stay on the back side of the hotel. The thumping of the music at five in the morning makes it hard to go to sleep! The waiting time to get a beverage from the bar in the pool was painfully slow! The reason why we picked the flamingo is because it was very central to where we had to be. We will not be staying there again. Read less

The Flamingo has excellent views and a great location with fluffy beds and large rooms. Unfortunately the property is poorly maintained. Our room was not properly cleaned before our arrival and the walls were dirty; the wallpaper was also peeling off the walls. The room cards in the elevators also only work half the time, leaving many guests stranded as staff are unavailable to help. I think this is a management shortcoming - the hotel and casino is grossly understaffed, which leaves for bad guest experience and a stressed out staff. Due to this, I probably won’t be staying at a Ceasers property again. Read less

I first want to start with saying I have stayed in this hotel dozens of times and while it might not be the nicest hotel Vegas has to offer, the location is great, and the pool was my favorite. Me and my business went to Vegas for a weekend getaway August 9-12th and on our last night at the hotel we woke up to our room door not fully shut and our things gone missing. At first, I figured we had just packed them or misplaced them until I realized my handbag that I wore out the night before was one of the things missing. We called security and they came to our room and did a report. The security guard left to go see if he could find the bags in the stairwell.... and sure enough 10 minutes later came back with my bags that had obviously been stripped of all my money credit cards and other belongings. He then told me if the door never latched shut when we came back to our room, I was SOL and that was that, but he would run an investigation and get back to me. Which at first, I obviously questioned myself even though I was sober and knew we had shut the door. Until on our flight home a couple overheard us talking and asked which hotel we had stayed at. I told them the Flamingo and they told us the night previous the same thing happened to them except they were in the room and witnessed a tool coming through the door that was popping the door open. I tried to speak to risk management several times after my return home. (I had to reach out, the hotel never contacted me) however they just told me sorry there is nothing we can do call the police if you would like and gave me the number to the LV police. I WAS ASLEEP IN MY UNDERWARE AND SOMEONE CAME INTO MY ROOM AND ROBBED ME, and this hotel never offered so much as an apology rather tried to blame me. I explained that the couple told me about the tool to Risk management but again they did not care. I also noticed the day we had arrived that there was security at the bottom of the elevator checking key cards at random which I had never noticed before in the dozens of times I have stayed here. The hotel is aware of this issue yet claims they have no cameras in the hallways and does nothing to protect the ppl that stay here. It's sad to say because this was my favorite hotel to stay in Las Vegas but after being violated and then just brushed aside I guess I will be moving on from all the fun I have had over the years here. In line someone had dropped a glass container, and it was not picked up. They did not have the room available, and upgraded us to a larger room and it was not the room we had reserved. They did not clean our room at all during our four-night stay. Valet filled up quickly. The parking garage was terrible to navigate, and it was hard to find parking spaces. It is an iconic hotel with a fantastic location. The public facing areas of the hotel are nice and clean. Read less
