The hotel

When you step through the doors of this adults only resort, you'll instantly know you've reached paradise. Soak up the splendour of your surroundings with typical Mauritian architecture, decor inspired by the sea, and a roundabout bar with 360º views of the pool and glistening ocean beyond. The resort is located in front of one of the largest lagoons of Mauritius, Anse la Raie lagoon, and you can spend your days trying out the complimentary water sports, including glass bottom boat rides, or sail out on the resorts catamaran with daily full day excursions (at extra costs). There's also a luxurious spa (not forgetting the 3 swimming pools too) for those relaxing days. Either way, we guarantee you won't want to leave.

Where is it

In the North of Mauritius, on the shores of one of the largest lagoons in Mauritius, Anse la Raie lagoon. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: 1 hour 30 minutes.

Hotel information

182 rooms. All with private terrace or balcony, air-conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bar, WiFi, hairdryer, and safe. Couple Rooms are 375 sq ft and are located amongst the gardens, with 1 double-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults.  All Inclusive of: breakfast in the main restaurant, Bénitier. Lunch at Bénitier, Taba-J and Coral. Dinner is on a dine-around basis and is applicable in 5 restaurants. A selection of local beverages including water, beer, tea/coffee, soft drinks, table wine, local alcohols and spirits. A selection of local drinks from the mini-bar. A selection of tea/coffee and snacks at the Bulk Shop. Afternoon tea from 3.30pm-6.00pm (self-service, pastries at the Coral bar and local goodies near the main pool). Local snacks served with evening drinks.
Couple Poolside Rooms are 375 sq ft and ovelookng the gardens and one of the pools, with 1 double-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults. 

Couple Seafront Rooms a 375 sq ft and have views of the ocean, with 1 double-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults. 

Suites are 485 sq ft and have a private outside bathtub and terrace, with 1 double-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults. 

5 restaurants; Le Bénitier (local and international food, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner), Coral (à la carte fish and seafood, dinner), Lemongrass (Asian cuisine, dinner), Kot Nou (Mauritian dishes, dinner), Taba-J (Mauritian street food concept, lunch). 5 bars including a juice bar and tea bar. 

Live music 5 times a week. DJ parties twice a week including one beach party and one pool party (weather permitting).

3 swimming pools. Spa POZ*. Fitness centre. Non-motorised water sports including kayaks, glass bottom boat, pedal boat, snorkelling, lazer boat and stand-up paddle boards. 2 paddle courts and 1 tennis court. Yoga. Otentik Experiences (a meal with a family in a local home, a Mauritian cooking lesson and a stop at the Otentik Bazar). Eco-workshops. New yoga activity on the hotels catamaran including meditation exercises and sunset drinks* (once a week, reservation required).

Nothing was too much trouble to make the wedding stunning and memorable. Kevin had organised Nat and Jude photography to take the photos. What a fabulous team ensuring the bride and groom got the casual photos they wanted. The wedding was completed by the lobster dinner at Kot Nou. This was so amazing. Highly recommend it! We did All Inclusive. Food and drinks were amazing. So much choice. Tip book restaurants when you arrive. We loved the casual lunches at Taba J street food. The whole team need to be commended, from the beach cleaners, gardeners, room cleaners, maintenance, bar, restaurants, chefs, management etc. Special mentions to Sachin and Anais for the stunning lobster service at Kot Nou & Taba-J. Ganesha & Vivek in the bar. Permal (“Nissan”) & Jonathon in Coral. Ake & Ranveer in breakfast. Akash in various locations. There are plenty of sun beds spaced out. There are lots of water stations offering still and sparking water throughout the resort. There are fabulous shower rooms you can book for a late check out. From other reviews there are places that could do with eg a bit of regrouting or painting but this is so minor and certainly did not impact on our fabulous celebration and holiday. We had really done our research and we were happy to have chosen this hotel. The good points. The staff, especially the waiters and waitresses were fabulous. So kind and friendly, they are the stars of this hotel. It was great to be able to book the a la carte restaurants as many times as we wanted and my favourite was coral-the food was wonderful and all handmade with care. We ate at most of them twice but could have gone to coral every night if I could! Some of the buffet food was wonderful especially Indian night. The location is lovely and they tell you not to walk anywhere as there isn’t anything close but actually there is a beautiful beach round the corner if you walk around the back of where the coral restaurant is. Locals go there and it’s stunning. The island is incredibly safe and there is a lot to see. For any souvenirs the local supermarket is surprisingly ideal. I loved that there was care for the environment but wish we’d known to bring our own bottles. The marine centre is great and all the trips offered are wonderful. The wildlife is amazing too. The not so good points. The rooms are tired, with stains on blinds and pillows alongside other little faults. My biggest disappointment was the drinks, very cheap wine that was largely unpalatable and I’m no connoisseur or wine buff but none of it was nice. There are sparkling whites but sometimes I got one I didn’t like at all and other times I got one that was okish at a push - so they definitely had more than one. The cocktails were not great either, I think the ingredients were not the best quality and lots of sugar syrup, be more suited to a student party crowd. Most disappointing was the awful old scratched plastic glasses they were using-no idea why they weren’t using glass. We’ve been to many 4 star all incs around the world and unfortunately the drinks here were a real let down in comparison. Other adult only hotels usually use glass at beach bars especially surprising in an environmentally friendly hotel. Sometimes the cuts of meat weren’t the best but I know I’m fussy. Kot nou was good but we were put off booking it a second time as while we were still eating the waiter was asking us to review it and to mention him which I felt was a bit pushy, he even asked if we knew how to review it and I think if we’d said no he would have shown us! I can tell from other reviews that’s others have mentioned him so assume he asked them too! Sometimes locals were having loud parties on the beach behind at the weekends so just let reception know if that’s the case. They were shut down quickly. Hello I was at lagoon attitude for my husband’s birthday.Thanks to Mrs Etowar for recommending me such a nice place..The staffs were helpful and most of all the food were delicious ..many varieties and we also had some spa treatments which were very relaxing …overall it was a good hotel experience..will definitely visit again ☺️
