Great vacation!

We’re huge Sandals fans. This was our first visit to Sandals Dunn’s River. We flew into Ocho Rios which made the shuttle ride very short (30 minutes). Arrival was standard Sandals greeting, with towels and welcome drink. Check in was super smooth. The rooms here are beautiful and spacious. The entire resort has been remodeled and everything is new. Food was very good, but service was a bit slow. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. I decided to get my open water dive certification while there and Lincoln was a super instructor! Was able to take all the lessons, do my required dives and course work (online) and still enjoy plenty of pool time relaxing. Very good experience and definitely recommend it. Read less

amazing vacation at Sandals Dunns River

from the time we landed to the time we left, including the transfers to and fro were hassle free. this was our first time in Jamaica and also at Sandals Resorts. i understand there are a couple more Sandals resorts all over Jamaica but Sandals Dunns River was the best one, especially when we visited a couple of them one evening. The Sandals Dunns River Resort was very clean, amazing staff - nothing was too much for them, very polite, and everything was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. The food at the resort was delicious for every meal we had. The restaurant Manyu was great because the Chef Vikram made dishes as per our request which was not even in the Menu. we thoroughly enjoyed the food. The Manager Kim was very polite, friendly and welcoming. The people working there, Kamala, Kimone, and also Paula who we met at the French Restaurant were all very accommodating. I must mention Brittania who checked us in and was available when we were leaving. she was one amazing young lady. she also sang for us a goodbye song which we thought was a very kind gesture. my wife and i would definitely return to this resort again. amazing cuisine and we had lovely weather too. finally a big shout out to Mario who entertained us every evening!! thank you Sandals for the amazing time!! Since the moment we arrived for our honeymoon/anniversary everything was great. The service, food and people has been amazing. Yanai from Entertainment, Conrad, Joseph and O’ryan specifically have gone above and beyond for us. They keep the party going!! The music has been great!! Not to mention the entertainment. This is our first time visiting sandals but we definitely want to come back. Thank you to yanai, Conrad, Joseph and o’ryan. We look forward to seeing them again. 2 Year Wedding Anniversary Trip at Sandals Dunns River Review

Our week-long stay at Sandals Dunn’s River was enjoyable, though it didn’t quite measure up to our experience at Sandals Curaçao. The resort is beautifully maintained, surrounded by lush tropical gardens and stunning views that create the quintessential Caribbean ambiance. The staff were warm, attentive, and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. However, we did notice some areas where Sandals Dunn’s River fell short compared to Sandals Curaçao. While the property itself is charming, it lacked the grandeur and visual impact of the Curaçao resort. The dining options, although varied, didn’t deliver the same exceptional culinary experiences we enjoyed at Curaçao. The breakfast offerings, in particular, did not meet our expectations. That said, the entertainment at Dunn’s River was lively and fun, contributing to an overall enjoyable atmosphere. One aspect we found odd was that the “party pool” at Sandals Dunn’s River didn’t have a swim-up bar, while the quiet pool did. This was quite different from our experience at Sandals Curaçao, where the party pool featured a swim-up bar that added to the fun, social atmosphere. Our first day was the most challenging. The service at the Jerk Shack was disappointing—staff appeared disorganized and unsure of their tasks. Our meal took an unreasonably long time to arrive, and our silverware was brought out about 10 minutes after the food, which was frustrating after a long day of travel and exhaustion. We regretted not booking Club Mobay for arrival assistance and highly recommend it to future guests to help ease the transition after a long journey. Despite these initial setbacks, certain staff members went above and beyond to turn our experience around. After sharing our concerns on the Sandals app, Keyron reached out and introduced himself at dinner that evening. This personal touch, along with the thoughtful gesture of “happy anniversary” written on our desserts and a romantic turndown service complete with cake, made us feel valued and appreciated. This experience reinforced that if something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth speaking up—the staff genuinely aim to make your stay exceptional and are receptive to feedback. We’d also like to give a special shout-out to Jermaine T at Zuka for his warm and welcoming personality. Special thanks to Mark, Davaugn, and Mario, who were exceptional bartenders. Their friendliness and attentive service greatly enhanced our stay and made each visit to the bar a highlight. Sheldon, the photographer, was also fantastic and captured some wonderful moments for us. Another standout experience was the spa, where we enjoyed a relaxing and rejuvenating treatment. Our favorite dining spots were Cascata and Zuka, which was a delightful surprise given that Zuka had been our least favorite restaurant during our stay at Sandals Curaçao. One of the major highlights of Sandals Dunn’s River was the breathtaking beach with its crystal-clear water, perfect for both relaxation and snorkeling. We appreciated that this resort offered a wider range of water sports compared to Sandals Curaçao. Our Hobie Cat sailing adventure with Belty was unforgettable—he was engaging, knowledgeable, and shared fascinating insights about the island. Our room was spacious, clean, and provided a comfortable space to unwind after our activities. Overall, Sandals Dunn’s River is a beautiful resort with many positive attributes, especially for those seeking a picturesque beach getaway. While we enjoyed our stay, it didn’t quite capture the same level of excitement and standout experiences we had at Sandals Curaçao. In Read less

Seven days in heaven

Sandals Dunn's River was my first all-inclusive experience, and it exceeded my expectations. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, with an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, two massive hot tubs, and greenery everywhere. I appreciated the chorus of tree frogs every night. We ate at every restaurant, and while there were a few misses and service issues, overall the food and service were A+. Of note: the rum bar is an awesome place to hang out and has some of the best food around. We also loved the sushi, Italian and South American restaurants. We stayed in a travertine penthouse room and I can't really think of anything to complain about. Comfy bed, lots of space, great view from the balcony, enourmous shower. The one caveat was that the liquor in the room did not include bourbon or whiskey, and I was told that was an upcharge. Whatever, I made it up elsewhere. :) Everyone on the staff was very kind and helpful -- I want to call out our butler, Najae, who kept the drinks flowing, and Mark, who tended the swim-up bar, for his awesome service and great singing voice.
