We loved St.Lucia and pleased we chose the Halcyon, it has a lovely feeling and very relaxing. The Good - great room (sea view and close to the sea) good food and beautiful gardens, great water sports. The trips via sandals are excellent well run and we felt safe. The Bad -some members of staff are disinterested and rude, I had a hard sell from a beautician for the jewellery shop and massages, I looked her in the eye and said I wasn’t interested - it annoyed me. The Ugly - majority of the sun beds are gone by 8 am , I witnessed a couple reserving beach beds at 6.45 ! Butlers reserve beds and areas with towels and blue cool boxes and they are often not used. My husband complained and a member of staff laughed at him in the face, we were dealt with by a senior manager with an apology. I would stay at a sandals resort again, impressed with a majority of the service provided on resort and club area, we also enjoyed visiting the two other resorts. Read less

Our butler Sylvee was amazing and fulfilled all of our needs before we even asked, including having beach/pool chairs and a cooler reserved when we were ready, kept our room bar stocked, made all reservations for dinner for us, and much more. They also arranged transport for our departure to the airport to ensure we made it on time. Can't say enough how great of a time we had on our honeymoon. Read less

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Halcyon. Have stayed at many Sandals and this rates as one of our favourites. Smallish in size but great in service, food and ambiance. Apparently, resort was almost at capacity, but we had no waiting for loungers or restaurants. Spent most of time at beach and loved it. Very responsive Concierge. Shout outs to Ciaton and Cleus too. Rated at a 5 but there are minor drawbacks. The tennis and pickleball courts are atrocious. No one uses them because they're an accident waiting to happen. From time to time you get a whiff of sewage but not a big deal really. For excursions, did the Castries Market Shopping Tour is a waste of time and money. The market has value and good deals and if you really want to shop take a taxi rather than the resort tour. Also did Snuba and it was $145 pp, was only half hour in Water and saw nothing of interest other than stuff planted in water from tour operator. Jameel did great job of safety briefing and communication but we would not do again. Advertised as up to 20 feet depth but hardly approached 10 feet. Read less

Not what we expected nor as advertised. On arrival things were busy in arrivals. Would recommend, if you can, completing required paperwork online. Taken to Sandals lounge which was not big enough for everyone from the flight. Transfer to resort was a bit if a nightmare. BA flights land in the afternoon which means transfers are during peak travel times. Our driver, who was lovely, opted to go the 'scenic route' to try and avoid gridlock on main route. Very hilly & windy road, so if you suffer from travel sickness be aware. Our journey took almost 2 hours solely due to traffic. On arrival in resort, the cold cloth was much appreciated....not so much the arrival song. Our room, club level with tub was clean but not in my view luxurious, just little things but all add up. Room was cleaned each day with clean towels. We did not expect a turndown service, think it unnecessary but only happened 2 days out of the 10 days we were there, another little thing. We liked the food in all restaurants but in Kellys service is really slow, 2.5 hours one evening. I must mention Celina in Bayside. What a lovely lady & an absolute credit to Halcyon. We preferred to use the quiet & lagoon pools. Pools were as clean as they could be given the beautiful gardens have plants/trees which overhang in some places. Daily pool clean with nets....however....sunbeds are past their best, some torn at foot level. Pools have scum marks on side at water level and in lagoon pool the white in water beds also have scum marks at water level & the blue cushions are also dirty, some with holes. We did use the shuttle service to the Grand & La Toc for evening meals. Shuttle service is great & we had the best meal of our holiday at Gordons at the Grand. We took the shopping trip to Castries offered in resort. We went to the port duty free shops which are the same as every port, some nice shops. We then went to the famous Castries market. I found the whole experience a bit overwhelming, poverty very obvious. I did buy some things but felt guilty at choosing one stall over another. Did not stay in market for the allocated time & went back to sit in the mini bus. Departure was seamless & airport experience was great, could teach some of the big airports a thing or two. All in all, we had a lovely holiday but not one we would repeat. This was planned for our retirement & coming from the UK is expensive and for us, not value for money. Read less
