This was our third trip to Sandals Dunn’s River! We arrived 7/9/24 just 5 days after Hurricane Beryl. Resort is gorgeous, but what makes this resort extremely special are the people. Shout out to the following employees that made our stay more memorable… Stacy Ann from Club Sandals (and her boss Ashley) who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was excellent, Paul from bell hop services who remembered us by name 🤯 as we stepped off our arrival transport, and Romaine a server at the French restaurant (L’Amande) who provided exceptional service and attention to detail — so good we went there twice and requested his section! All of the employees truly make you feel welcome and served well. “Now that you are leaving us water comes to our eyes, so come back my friend, come back soon, don’t leave us here to cry.” Thank you Sandals Dunn’s River! We will be back 🇯🇲😊☀️🇯🇲 Read less

There wasn’t one unhappy soul. Some special shout outs: Stacy Ann at concierge lounge, Latona at the Rum Club, Kerry Ann at the Greek Restaurant, Eugene at Hanami, Kimoya from Blum and last but not least Chris Iceberg the tennis pro at ochi. Once the tennis courts are finished at Dunn’s I recommend you bring Chris over to Dunn’s to be your tennis pro. A special thanks to Deryk Meany. A kind man (GM) who truly cares about an ultimate customer experience. This is one Sandals resort we will be back to. Read less

This was my husband and my first time traveling since our wedding in 2004. We were absolutely blown away... Almost literally by hurricane Beryl. The staff took amazing care of us. I can honestly say, these are MY PEOPLE! At arrival, we were welcomed by song and cool towels. We were escorted around the resort as we waited for our room. Our travertine building room was gorgeous with a soaking tub on the balcony. Conrad and Yanai made sure each day was full of great music and fun activities. We couldn't help but be drawn to their energy. Their love for their job was contagious! We made friends with Ruth, Jesse, Paula, and Nicholas who always made sure to check in with us to make sure we were having the best time. The resort is very well kept. Kimarley in landscaping is such a humble spirit. Rayon was our life guard and kept up with us while we were on the beach making sure we weren't in need of anything. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking for hours, and a nice sailing trip. The food at the resort will satisfy any pallet. We truly found our love of sushi at Hanami. We were pleasantly surprised with our special treatment at L'amande where our waiter, Ronaldo, took extra care of us. The best surprise was a serenade from Alicia. She actually felt led to sing the exact song we danced to on our wedding night. There was absolutely No Way we could have known that bit of information. Due to the hurricane, we also need to brag on Deryk Meany, the GM. He was very well spoken, informative, and reassuring during such an unpredictable situation. He was very present around the resort. He made sure to be real with us about what to expect. The guests all bonded together and supported the staff as they faced this storm in their community. We were told the resort was running on 41 staff at the time of landfall; and let me tell you, we could not tell a difference in hospitality or service. On our last day, we took advantage of the Redlane Spa. It is a must do! We were pampered and spoiled. They even treated my sunburn and made sure I pushed liquids. So many great stories from our trip. I can say I cannot wait to book again. Jamaica Sandals Dunn's River will forever hold the most special place in our hearts. We will never forget the people we met and loved on us. How he worked side by side with his staff before, during, and after Hurricane Beryl, was truly amazing. We rebooked an additional stay at Dunns River for March 2025, although we had not planned to travel to Sandals then. Mr. Meany's phenomenal staff and the beautiful resort called us home. I would also like to sing his Adam, the CEO of Sandals, for Derek is the best GM we have ever met at any Sandals property. One Love. Susan and Keith. Read less

We landed at airport. We chose to add Club Mobay , which was a God sent. Because it was 4th of July weekend the lines were super long. Someone was there waiting as soon as we got off of the plane and we got to by pass the long lines for Security and Customs. (Make sure to have all of your documents filled out before you arrive). Our longest wait was for luggage. Once we got through the airport, We opted for Private transportation we arranged through Sandals. Paul arrived on-time and had snacks, water, juice, and beer waiting for us in the car. Paul was our driver. He was friendly, professional and gave us a narrated version of every hotel and landmark from the airport to the resort. He made the ride fun. He did offer to stop if we needed to. First I must say, We are ‘Seasoned Sandalers’ having stayed at over 11 Sandals/Beaches Resorts. Once we got to Sandals we were greeted by cold towels and friendly faces. They escorted us to Club Sandals where we met our Butler. We did not have to wait long. Kimeka escorted us to our rooms and explained where we could find restaurants, spa, Rum Club and other amenities. Our room was very nice (2417) 4th floor at the end of hallway. It was clean, had a nice citrus smell, very spacious, 2 TV’s, wet bar, extra towels. Pros: Derek the General Manager - We were there during Beryl. He and his staff went above and beyond to make sure we were safe, well fed, and Yes, entertained. They worked tirelessly, some without sleep. I was thoroughly impressed with GM, Management, and Staff. He made sure to give us constant updates. They worked together like a well oiled machine. There were no Big I’s and little You’s. Everyone pitched in where they were needed . For that I am grateful and I will sing their praises. Rum Bar: Shenelle was amazing. Her personality, smile, and willingness to please the customer was outstanding. Even when my hubby was being difficult she never stopped smiling, and continued to have fun. I don’t know the others by name but the whole staff on July 2nd before closing sang and danced with my husband for his birthday. He was very surprised and said it was one of the best birthdays. Thank you to the whole Rum Bar staff. Bantu Restaurant: Kimone was our waitress. She was great another shining example always smiled and had a very pleasant disposition, The manager was great and the food was very good. The Chef took time to come out and greet us, as we wanted to make sure he know how much we enjoyed the food. Jevon: with the cabanas was awesome. He was very attentive. Then when the hurricane hit, every time he saw my friends and myself and my husband, he made sure to come over and ask if we were okay, needed anything or just to hold a polite conversation. French and Italian restaurants and Edessa for breakfast were good. Con’s: The Lounge next to Edessa was always a ghost town. Maybe put the piano in there and make Piano Bar. Some of the Bartenders need a little more training. The drinks were subpar and they over poured on the alcohol which made them nasty and tasting like lighter fluid. Good drinks keep you wanting more. Butler service started a little shaky Kimeka and Stanford were our butlers. Both were friendly, and did their best to accommodate under the circumstances, but there were a few things that we noticed could use a little work. There wasn’t a butler hand off like other resorts. On the first day, Kimeka greeted us but we didn’t know she went off shift until Stanford called us, and because she didn’t introduce us to him before she left. He did not know where we were and who we were. We reserved Spa treatments for July 2nd, he did not know that. We had them reserve chairs and the canbana for 2 days and constantly had to tell them no beer in the cooler. It was as if filling out the Butler preferences before hand was useless. One positive was I texted Kimeka the next morning for Breakfast in our room before she came on duty and when she arrived she made sure to confirm my breakfast order and time. It was kind of hit and miss until I wrote a small review on Gina. After the Hurricane, things got better, We were escorted to dinner, they were checking on us regularly. I do want to mention though that We asked Stanford to put food in our room the day before the storm and he did. Friday after the storm, I went up to our room to get something and I walked in on him in our room on the phone with no visible reason for him being there. After finishing up in the loyalty office, my husband and I went back to the room and he was still there on his cell phone. He then left. It was just a little strange as to why he was even in our room. Overall the resort was beautiful, the food was good, The GM, management team and majority of the staff were excellent. Thanks to the staff who went above and beyond. Read less
