The hotel

Ideally located on the south coast of Barbados, in the vibrant St. Lawrence Gap area, is the budget-friendly Time Out Hotel. Famed for its prime location you are steps away from the beautiful Dover Beach and next to Dover playing field - great if you fancy getting involved in a game of football with the locals, or joining in with any festivities during your holiday. Offering 76 rooms, you'll also find a bar, a restaurant, and a pool on the property, but what really impresses us is the friendly service and the genuine island warmth the minute you walk through the door.

Where is it

Time Out Hotel is located on the south coast of Barbados in the entertaining and popular St. Lawrence Gap. 15 minutes to Bridgetown. Transfer time from airport: 25 minutes.

Hotel information

76 rooms on 3 floors in 2 buildings, with no lifts. All rooms have air-conditioning, flat-screen cable TV, mini-fridge (not stocked), kettle, safe, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer (some amenities are on request). All rooms feature a shower only. Standard Rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the hotel, facing the courtyard and Dover Playing field, with either 1 double bed or 2 twin beds; sleeping maximum 2 adults. These rooms do not have a balcony.

Breakfast option: available at a supplement.

Superior Rooms are primarily situated on the upper floors, with a balcony or patio, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Pool View Rooms feature a balcony or patio, with 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

Deluxe Rooms are larger in size and have been recently renovated, with views of Dover playing field, and either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children.

Please note: Virgin Atlantic Holidays exclusive special offer rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor without elevator access.

Amigo's restaurant and sports bar, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a casual dress code and daily happy hour. There are also many restaurant and bar options just outside of Time Out's front door for you to choose from including Greek, Chinese, Thai, Irish, Mexican, Spanish or International cuisine.

Swimming pool. Basketball*, volleyball* available at Dover playing field, and a range of water sports* are available on Dover Beach.

Convenience shop. Complimentary WiFi access.

A Tourism Fee will be charged per bedroom, per night and will be collected at check out. The rate is subject to change by the Government, and varies by hotel room. Fees currently range from 8.75 Barbadian dollar (approximately £3.90) to 35 Barbadian dollar​ (approximately £16.00) per bedroom, per night.

Stayed from 23 June to 6 July 2024 Locked out of room on last day as my room id card stopped working I had to wait 45mins to get back in my room by security who had their light off so you could not tell they were in the office at 2am. Stayed from 23 June to 6 July 2024 Locked out of room on last day as my room id card stopped working I had to wait 45mins to get back in my room by security who had their light off so you could not tell they were in the office at 2am. Food service is rubbish. I ordered food and was told it would be ready in 30 mins when I came back I was told by the same bar staff that served me originally that it was not ready. It was only when i spoke to the manager the food all of a sudden became available which consisted of burnt fried chicken and chips not what I originally ordered. A refund of 30 BB dollars were supposed to be refunded instead I received BB20 and American $5 dollars. When I requested a BB 10 dollar note I was told by a woman they did not have one. Real crap service all around other than my room which was kept clean. I would never recommend time out as it is not worth the money and food is overpriced more expensive than in the USA or UK. How can Breakfast cost $25 dollars daily?? Your patrons are getting ripped off. Read less

if you're going to stay in this hotel I advise you to bring all your living essentials but a bed. Took a while to figure out how to get hot water from the shower. Should add more lights to the room. PLEASE remember to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, even water, since the stores near by are way over priced. The door locks are kinda wonky.… Read more

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit trepidatious about my choice of hotel for my stay in Barbados. I needn't have worried. The hotel was perfect for our stay. I have absolutely no complaints at all. Everything was spotless and anything we need extra from housekeeping was not a problem. The pool area was very clean with towels readily available everyday, even when we didn't go to the pool until late afternoon. The hotel is ideally situated across from the beach so we could go back and forward throughout the day. We never used Amigos for food so I can't comment on that except to say that being scottish, the bartender was happy to put the football on the tv early in the morning for us. We had a deluxe room which was above reception and the balcony looked onto the road. We heard some music the 1st night but we were oblivious to it after then. On my experience, I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone looking to saty in St. Lawrence on a budget. Read less

Lovely small hotel, friendly receptionists, Great little pool (approx 15m x 8m) 75m across the road from the beach, 7mins walk to the Gap where there are loads of great restuarants and bars, although there a bars with food under 1 minute away 🩷🩷 Ignore the Negative comments, some people just love to moan !
