The hotel

Part of the very fabric of Midtown Manhattan, this Art Deco attraction is proudly capped with the red ‘New Yorker’ sign that’s made it a landmark in the city skyline. Inside its iconic 1929 shell, this Jazz Age hotel’s held on to its heritage. Its top location, just a block from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, means you’re well placed for attractions like Macy’s, Times Square and the Empire State Building. And it doesn’t matter what time you finish exploring, its 24-hour Tick Tock Diner will give you a taste of New York with American comfort food classics like burgers and all-day breakfasts. If you fancy something a little more upmarket, the New Yorker’s Trattoria Bianca comes with an oyster bar.

The Wyndham New Yorker is a very old hotel and probably needs updating, however, the great location makes up for it. The staff were fantastic. You are close to everything New York and the subway. The 24 hour restaurant in the hotel was convenient. I would stay again.

The New Yorker is clean, staff is friendly, close proximity to the subway. If you’re in town for a Knicks game it’s the perfect location. Depending on the location of your room you can even spot the Edge. In the future I plan on staying at the New Yorker again.

The hotel is older but very clean. The beds were very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. Muhammed went out of his way to make this happen. He was very polite and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect as we arrived and departed from Penn Station. The Tic Tock diner was good. Muhammed called our room twice during our stay to make sure everything was good. It is an older hotel so that is to be expected but it has a lot of history. I would definitely stay here on our next visit to NYC. Read less
