Part of the very fabric of Midtown Manhattan, this Art Deco attraction is proudly capped with the red ‘New Yorker’ sign that’s made it a landmark in the city skyline. Inside its iconic 1929 shell, this Jazz Age hotel’s held on to its heritage. Its top location, just a block from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, means you’re well placed for attractions like Macy’s, Times Square and the Empire State Building. And it doesn’t matter what time you finish exploring, its 24-hour Tick Tock Diner will give you a taste of New York with American comfort food classics like burgers and all-day breakfasts. If you fancy something a little more upmarket, the New Yorker’s Trattoria Bianca comes with an oyster bar.

Room very small pillows, noisy, dated hotel reminds me of the hotel in the film the shinning.
Good location and penn train station a few mins walk.

The front desk staff was awesome & I was shocked to check in early (at noon & not the normal 4 p.m.). So we didn’t need to check our bags, which is $5 each. It’s steps away from Penn Station!
I also wasn’t charged a resort fee because I’m a Wyndham Gold Rewards member. I was even allowed to move my room for a view of the Empire State Building.…

I also wasn’t charged a resort fee because I’m a Wyndham Gold Rewards member. I was even allowed to move my room for a view of the Empire State Building. The rooms are small, but who cares because you’re out exploring NYC. For breakfast, the Tic Tock Diner is fast, tasty & NYC affordable & connected to the hotel.
The only negative was that there’s no coffee maker in room or on the floor. I asked the front desk for mugs (I brought a plug in kettle), but they never arrived to my room.

The hotel position and the gym was for me an anchor in the middle of the best city in the world. If the room was lower standard compared with the idea I had I mind (old and not so fashion) but the staff was super, the gym perfect and the position is uncomparable
Great location

Just got back from a 6 night stay & was overall very pleased with our stay. The price for the room was pretty affordable compared to other hotels in the vicinity. The location is excellent & very convenient. There is a subway station on the corner, restaurants all around & walking distance to Times Square. The street is very crowded & noisy so if you prefer a quieter experience, this isn't for you. The exterior & lobby are classic style & I had no complaints. The elevators, hallways & rooms are old, but that is part of the charm. The beds were great & the rooms were overall clean. The only negative is the bathrooms & the windows are old & outdated. However, that may explain the more reasonable price, so it was acceptable. I would recommend the New Yorker & would stay here again.

Convenient, but...

This hotel is in a very convenient location - less than two blocks from Penn Station and about a 15-20 minute walk to Times Square. However, it is very old and in need of updating. The regular rooms are tiny - barely enough space to maneuver around the bed - and the bathrooms are even smaller, with no storage areas. The whole hotel needs a fresh…

The whole hotel needs a fresh coat of paint, new carpeting, etc. Water pipes are noisy and clank at night.
