Where is it

On Lexington Avenue, this hotel is surrounded by typical brownstone buildings with cafés, bagel shops, cocktail bars, and gastro pubs nearby. It is a few blocks from Grand Central Station and the Chrysler Building, and just a stroll from sights like the Empire State Building, Bryant Park and Fifth Avenue. Transfer time from John F. Kennedy International Airport: 40 minutes.

325 contemporary rooms and suites. All with flatscreen HDTV with cable and pay-per-view movies, iHome docking station, WiFi access*, fridge, coffee maker, safe, hairdryer, iron and board, and pillow menu. Standard Guest Rooms are 325-350 sq ft with 1 king-size bed or 1 queen-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Studio Apartments are 410 sq ft and have a granite kitchenette with either 1 queen-size bed, 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. 

One Bedroom Deluxe Apartments are 450-650 sq ft and have a kitchenette, living room, separate bedroom, 2 flat-screen TVs, with 1 king-size bed and sofa bed, sleeping maximum 4 adults.

I recently visited NY, and it was Amazing. Aside from the hot, humid weather it was AMAZING!!! I definitely want to give the Shelburne Sonesta NY on Lexington a huge thank you for a wonderful & comfortable stay. But, an even bigger Thank You to the Doorman Adam. He was godsent. He truly showed us what the New York people are all about, Family. Our 1st outing we attempted to ride the subway and man, were we lost. Thankfully my ex-husband had met Adam at the hotel earlier that day as he had a drink in the local diner downstairs from the hotel. Adam saw us lost in the subway and said hey are you guys lost. I Never felt more relieved to see a familiar face. I’m pretty sure no other employee from any other hotel had ever went out of their way to help someone they don’t really know. But, from that point on Adam became like Family. He help us the whole way throughout our stay in NY. So a HUGE THANK YOU to Adam. Sonesta you’ve got yourself a truly Amazing Employee. Read less

Excellent location, spacious room (this is NY..), big comfortable bed, lots of packing space in the bathroom, proper desk and chair which was great for work, enough hangers, steam iron with board, hiding space for the suitcases, and proper cleaning every day. Plus windows that one can open which is important for me, I like natural air. Papers and printing was free which helped me a lot with preparing for my meetings. Plus a free snack and drink every day. Front desk people were very friendly and courteous. David specially, gave us some advises and recommendations and help us getting a taxi on our last day. Rooms were spacious and clean, beds were comfortable. Overall had a good experience and will definitely come back!
