After checking in you get sent to another counter to activate room keys which is just an extreme push to attend the timeshare meetings. We had attended an “update” meeting less than a year ago and told the guy this and that we had an extremely busy week, we spent over 40mins at this counter to accomplish nothing. Beware before going. A day into our trip we had to change units as the 2nd bathroom lacked water pressure which couldn’t be fixed so we had to cut short a day of our plans to come pack everything up to change units that we had to wait for to start. Not the best experience and a lot of wasted time. Read less

Being an owner no longer has any benefits. We have been owners of two units for 15 and 20 years. We know that things happen and things have to be repaired, and never have we had any complaints. This has been absolutely ridiculous during our stay this time. We are staying at River Island. It’s been horrible. Our room was not ready and they told us they should have had us in by 2:30. I watched and talk to people that told me that they arrived later than me go right into their rooms. Finally at 4:30 our room was still not ready. Even though we had totally unpacked in one building. They then switched us to another building that we had to drag all of our luggage and food that we bought which now as spoiled over to. Eric helped us carry our bags and what food was left to the second room. He also reported the issues to housekeeping and maintenance. Once in the room we had a broken refrigerator, so any food we had salvaged, was then spoiled. The gentleman that came to fix the refrigerator told us too bad about our food and never did anything but replace the ice maker. He said the fridge wasn’t that old so it should be fine. Once he left I turned it to the coldest setting hoping to keep our food cold enough. Then our air conditioning stopped working at 230 AM so it was so hot in our unit that we could not sleep. We have spent over half the day of our vacation with the man working on it. We were not going to leave someone in our room that we didn’t know. Not to mention the nickel and dime of purchasing tubes, can’t bring your own anymore, but you can bring a pool noodle to knock other people and little children in the head with. Then watching a small infant and toddlers parents trying to force their children into the horrible over inflated tubes because they weren’t allowed to use their own baby tubes. We checked in on Sunday and finally Thursday we heard from the manager after we called the office 5x or more. He’s going to reimburse us for the cost of some of our food with our proven receipt, how about the almost half day of vacation that we have lost dealing with all of the issues? Plus to that the fact we had to cancel our plans, and my husband stayed at the room with people running in and out of it, trying to fix the air conditioner. To top off things we saw last night our second sheet had a huge stain on it and so did our daughter’s sheet. So we were trying to locate someone to bring us clean sheets for a few hours. Ironically enough they called the same morning to see about us doing an hour tour. I had two friends that were considering purchasing here. They are now looking elsewhere. So they are going to comp us $230.00 which includes all the lost food, us having to buying dinner that night, gas to get new food again, missed time with family, and a hot sweaty night with no AC, and stained sheets. We were looking forward to the pools and the lazy river. My family was there July 2nd through 6th and it was over 90 degrees everyday. One thing all their pools had in common is they were hot! It was like taking a warm bath, there was no escaping the heat. I've never experienced that at a resort before, hot water everywhere. One thing I found really tacky was being charged for a tube at the lazy river. I already paid over 1100 dollars for the room and now you want to charge me for a tube? Why'd didn't you charge more for the rooms to cover it? Most people just walked around the river and enjoyed the water, it was really hot outside. The villa we had was nice and really comfortable, it was recently renovated. Housekeeping was exceptional and on point. The food was monotonous and average. The fireworks for the 4th and the entertainment they provided was nice, one of our best days. One thing that left a sour taste in my mouth was my interaction with Diana an employee I encountered while on line during checkout. Basically she offered to help, didn't, then tried to dismissed me when I followed up. But that's for my comments to management. Overall housekeeping was great, the villa was great, the staff was nice. The water was warm and we dealt with it but nah, never again. I was offered a tour while there, which I took although I'm not naive enough to buy a timeshare. I think a lot of people were there on a timeshare deal, at least 2 I met. The resort was monotonous, the same housing row after row over and over, not much attractive landscaping . Not visually pleasing. Read less

Great times with resort activities/pools/food and location. Also many restaurants outside resort to choose from!
