The hotel

The Southern Palms Beach Club and Hotel is spread out along 1,000 ft of oceanfront at St Lawrence Gap, so it has the best of both worlds. There are spacious grounds in which to relax and unwind during the day and then lively restaurants, shops and bars just a 5-minute walk away for evening entertainment! You can look out over the Caribbean Sea as you dine in the Garden Terrace restaurant and, on Sundays, people come from all over the island to enjoy the wonderful Sunday buffet lunch — accompanied by live music.

Where is it

On beautiful Dover Beach at St Lawrence Gap. 15 minutes to Bridgetown. Transfer time from airport: 20 minutes.

Hotel information

92 rooms on 3 floors in 6 buildings with no lifts. SuperSaver Rooms are smaller rooms and do not have a balcony or patio. They are located in one block and will be ground/first and second floor.

Garden Rooms are individually styled with Caribbean decor and have ceramic tile floors to keep you cool, plus a balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, satellite TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, fridge, hairdryer and iron and board. Rooms with twin beds or 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum of 2 people.

Please note: some room interior layouts, decor and views may differ based on their location.

Breakfast and Half Board options: available at a supplement.

Ocean View Rooms are as Garden Rooms but with sea views, and either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 child.

Junior Suites with kitchen facilities and 1 king-size bed or 1 queen-size bed and sleeper sofa in living room, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

Luxury Suites are very spacious with kitchenette and a bedroom with either 1 king-size bed or 2 queen-size beds and a queen sleeper sofa in the lounge, sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children.

Garden Terrace Restaurant. Khus Khus Bar. Complimentary afternoon tea served at the small pool. Breakfast option available*. Room service*.

Weekly Live Entertainment (Seasonal schedule changes may occur). Weekly Manager's rum punch party.

A Tourism Fee will be charged per bedroom, per night and will be collected at check out. The rate is subject to change by the Government, and varies by hotel room. Fees currently range from 8.75 Barbadian dollar (approximately £3.90) to 35 Barbadian dollar (approximately £16.00) per bedroom, per night.

Just returned from southern palms and wow what a fantastic hotel. I requested a room with a great view for a friend who hasn't been abroad for many years and celebrating a big birthday they provide us with a beach front room just steps from the beach couldn't have been any better, thank you so much for that. Staff all friendly from cleaners to security and all the others in between. Water is provided all day by the pool ,definitely needed . The beds and pillows are so comfortable and air con is fantastic. Had a welcome gift on arrival in our room which was a lovely touch along with tea coffee and juice in fridge wasn't expecting that but really appreciated it. Restaurant has a good selection of food from breakfast to evening meals and I thought it was very reasonably priced.plenty of sun loungers around and about and on the beach. If you have a lounger on the beach they give you a flag to wave if you want anything they bring it to you, brilliant. really Can't fault this hotel I will definitely be back. It's sat on dover beach which is my favourite. Read less

Stephen on reservations is really helpful, and he was able to sort us a great room exactly as we requested. This hotel has so many great things going for it, not least it's fabulous location . The gap is a few minutes' walk with some decent restaurants close by. The main bus route is within easy walking distance and 3.50 bbd$ on the bus will take you along the coast or to Bridgetown. The most incredible location! Hotel is nestled right in the middle of an abundance of fabulous bars and restaurants. The area feels safe and everybody is friendly from street vendors to locals. The hotel does have a restaurant and the food is great but if you fancy a change try 'Crave' or 'Mimosa' just a few mins walk away. We also really loved 'Pure Ocean' and had a gorgeous meal but also took advantage of happy hour there in the afternoons. This is the next building along from the hotel so is accessible by the beach. The rooms were clean and had plenty of storage. The shower was powerful and easy to use and the towels were changed every day. Our room looked right out on to the smaller pool and the beach which was beautiful but I will say that being so close to the 'Chattel House' area meant that we were able to hear the live music until around midnight but this is no fault of the hotels. The staff at the hotel were incredible. Mekaela at the bar and restaurant was just so attentive and we really appreciated her and the other members of the team during our stay. Kelly, the general manager, made us feel so welcome along with all of the other members of staff. The beach is the absolute highlight here. Not one bit overcrowded, it is clean and well kept. The sand and sea looks like a postcard. We already can't wait to come back 🤍 Read less

It was a okay stay i ask front desk for the number for the spa where infinity on the beach use to be and she had a very nasty attitude but i found the contact the spa is blank canvas the spa a very nice intimate spa and very nice owner for anybody wanting a nice facial and massage blank canvas is very nice

Lovely hotel by the seafront and we got to swim with turtles. Staff were lovely. Great quality food. The rooms were spotless. The highlight was the free zumba class with Karen. The girl got some moves! Would definitely come back to this hotel.
