Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park– watery fun for everyone
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is one of the wettest, wateriest, most wonderful Parks in Florida and is reputed to be home to one of the world’s largest outdoor wave pools.
The idea is that a typhoon has blasted through a tropical paradise, leaving loads of items for you to play with, like surfboards, the odd shipwreck, and of course, plenty of water slides. At its heart is ‘Miss Tilly’, a shrimp boat that sits precariously on the top of Mount Mayday.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park map and information
As part of the mighty Walt Disney World Resort, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is easy to get to and has plenty of transport links from nearby hotels, and is simple to find your way around.
You can either use the maps that are dotted around the Park, ask for a paper map when you enter, or play it smart and go online and download the My Disney Experience app **.
This Disney Water Park is open from 10am to 8pm during summer months and 10am to 5pm in winter months.
As with any Water Park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park needs its fair share of maintenance to keep it in tip-top condition. The Park is often closed for periods during the autumn and winter, but during that time its sister park Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park stays open.
Remember too that this is Florida, and during hurricane season you may find the Park closes if adverse weather conditions are forecast.
Some rides will have height or age restrictions (sometimes both), but as there are lots of age-appropriate attractions for youngsters as well as teenagers and adults, this shouldn’t dampen your enjoyment in any way.
