The hotel

Set in seven leafy acres, and with a 50-year tradition of serving guests, The Garland is relaxing, family friendly, and doesn’t skimp on style. Take in its relaxed retro vibe and comfy style. Eating at the restaurant here is, as they say, like an evening at an old friend's house. Request a table out on the deck for dining amongst the trees and plants, catch up over a drink in a cosy booth in the lounge or grab a seat at the bar. Check out the weekly programme of activities too — you could join a guided walk, watch a film by the pool or enjoy some complimentary wine tasting. All this, just minutes from LA’s hotspots. As a Preferred Hotel Partner of Universal Studios Hollywood℠, you’re just a free shuttle ride from the parks, so don't forget to purchase your park tickets too for the ride(s) of your life!

It was nice to give them their own sleeping space, and we liked the extra room *Staff was nice and enthusiastic *Clean, clean, clean! Everything was super clean. *Pool area was comfortable with nice loungers and great towels *Bed was comfortable *My 17 year old enjoyed having a makeup vanity complete with stool Cons *The kids liked having their own tv in their space, but the space isn't separate enough from the main space to have 2 tvs going at the same time. Perhaps a curtain would be a nice addition for extra privacy when its older kids/teens in the bunk area *Pocket door for bathroom and lack of exhaust fan makes things a bit less private when you've got 4 in the room I would hands down stay here again! The staff at The Garland are amazing! Upon our arrival, they promptly assisted my family and me, providing guidance and exceptional help. Their attentiveness and ability to anticipate our needs meant we rarely had to ask for anything. Additionally, the ambiance and cleanliness of the hotel were outstanding. Food was great too!

Although they were full, an employee suggested we try The Garland, which is just a short distance away. We absolutely loved it! The rooms are quiet and the mid-century modern decor was both exciting and comforting. I can’t say enough about the staff. Each person was friendly and eager to assist us. The restaurant was enjoyable and the free trolley service to Universal was a plus. The Garland will be the first hotel I consider on our next trip to Los Angeles. Read less
