The hotel

Set in the historical Constantia Valley, this hotel makes for a relaxing countryside escape whilst still being only 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nine acres of leafy gardens surround two historic buildings, why not grab a map and explore, rent a picnic hamper, or have a go at some lawn games to make the most of these luscious surroundings. When you’re ready for a bit of city life, a daily complimentary shuttle is on hand to whizz you to the waterfront for a bit of shopping, or a bite to eat. The food on hand at the hotel is excellent however, with the aptly name Conservatory serving up a feast for breakfast and a range of top quality dishes when the evenings comes around.

Stunning location and gardens in a very quiet area. The accommodation is high end and luxurious and the service is very friendly and helpful. The only detraction is that service at the restaurant can be slow, even when it is not busy. Your waiter will disappear, never to be seen again. Better training needed.

I can honestly say that the massage I had at the Fresh Wellness spa is one of the best massages I have ever had. In my experience the massages at hotel spas are usually expensive and disappointing. This massage was worth every cent. It was exceptional. I will definitely go again when I am next in Cape Town.

All the reviews you have read for TCH are true. Felt like I was invited into someone's personal manor home. The minute I arrived at Reception, I immediately felt the warm hospitality. Management has trained their staff well. The staff has a willingness to go the extra mile in making your visit quite personal and special. They know when to offer assistance and when to offer privacy. Celebrating a milestone birthday here exceeded my expectations. Situated in Cape Town's Vineyard area and overlooking Table Mountain, I will miss this environment dearly. Read less

Incredible visit to beautiful boutique hotel on gorgeous grounds at the base of Table Mountain. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, fine linens and so comfortable. Incredible visit to beautiful boutique hotel on gorgeous grounds at the base of Table Mountain. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, fine linens and so comfortable. The food was special at every meal, presented creatively and delicious. The High Tea, walking in the gardens, finding the resident tortoises made this a one of a kind hotel. The Spa, peaceful, quiet and talented employees. But, by far the best part of all was the welcoming staff. Hats off to Helenica, Bridget, Daniel, Annabella, Que, Lisa and Massimo. Wish I could name everyone as they all did their part to make our visit so memorable! Read less
