The hotel

Cape Town has plenty to offer when it comes to sightseeing, and The Commodore is perfectly placed for you to enjoy the V&A waterfront, Table Mountain, and Robben Island with ease. Upgrade to an Executive room to make the most of the views from your balcony on the top floor, or even to a King Suite if you want the extra space for your stay. The nautical theme runs throughout the hotel, from your room right through to the bar and restaurant, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and local wines. As you’re in the heart of the harbour, you don’t have to go far to find more restaurants and bars either, where you can while away sunny evenings in the oldest working harbour in South Africa.

This is a really nice hotel in a perfect location! It was a great way to end a vacation after nine days in tented camps in Botswana and Zimbabwe, and I found the service to be impeccable. The rooms were spotless with comfortable beds, a coffee bar and refrigerator, and everything that we could've possibly wanted. We use the laundry service and I found it to be reasonably priced and our clothes were returned hours later and beautifully pressed. a buffet breakfast is provided to all guests and it was fabulous! Huge selection of super fresh foods, an omelette station, and excellent service. We also had dinner in the Clipper restaurant two nights in a row and had and were very happy with our selections. We really enjoyed the two nights that we spent at the Commodore and would definitely stay again if we return to Cape Town. Read less

A lovely, charming hotel located in the heart of the waterfront in Cape Town. Staff were welcoming and helpful; breakfast included and delicious; dinner at the restaurant superb; rooms well appointed and serviced daily (although we found the bed hard); a great hotel for a stay in beautiful Cape Town!

I always feel at home when I stay there. The atmosphere feels homelike and cozy, plus the staff make you feel like you are family. The restaurant is very good with a wide selection of dishes. The bar is well stocked with a selection of different brands. You are likely to meet some friends there and enjoy a drink or more.
