The hotel

A home away from home? This is that and more. With a sophisticated, sleek interior that’s infused with South African vibrancy, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the city – just opposite the Convention Centre if you’re here for business, but also just steps from bars, restaurants and attractions if you’re here for fun. Whichever room type you pick you’ll find yourself with ample space, and a fully equipped kitchenette to cook up a storm. Whilst you’ll feel like you’re in your own apartment, the concierge are on hand downstairs for whatever you need. And if you don’t feel like using your own facilities, the Asian tapas restaurant on the ground floor is definitely worth a visit. And if you fancy an aperitif, head up to the 4th floor to enjoy a cocktail with stunning views of Table Mountain. Of course you’ll also have to find time in your schedule for a dip in the pool which has both indoor and outdoor sections – perfect whatever the weather! And we haven’t even mentioned the spa…

One Bedroom Apartments range from 46 to 66 sqm, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the bedroom, which has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Deluxe One Bedroom Apartments have stunning Cape Town views, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Two Bedroom Apartments range from 77 to 102 sqm, with two bathrooms, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the two bedrooms, one of which has 1 king-size bed, and the other has twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Deluxe Two Bedroom Apartments have stunning mountain views from the balcony, with 1 king-size bed and twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

I recently stayed at the Onyx Hotel in the heart of beautiful Cape Town, and it was a delightful experience. The hotel's location offers stunning views and convenient access to the city's attractions. While the breakfast was a standard affair where you choose your dish, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cape Town

We visited the Onyx hotel on 22/06/2024 until 25/06/2024. On arrival the staff were all very friendly, they continued to be the same from start to finish. We couldn’t fault this hotel one bit. The rooms were spotless and all amenities were there too. We had a B&B stay. The breakfast was lovely, I’m a very fussy eater so I didn’t fancy what was on… Read more
We visited the Onyx hotel on 22/06/2024 until 25/06/2024. On arrival the staff were all very friendly, they continued to be the same from start to finish. We couldn’t fault this hotel one bit. The rooms were spotless and all amenities were there too. We had a B&B stay. The breakfast was lovely, I’m a very fussy eater so I didn’t fancy what was on the menu so I asked for poached eggs and bread on the 3 occasions. It was cooked to perfection. On the last morning I didn’t fancy juice, only still water so my husband asked for some still water and we got it. We’d a lovely breakfast, left when we were done. It was checkout time and we were paid in full. But then when our car arrived and we were in it a staff member came running out to us saying we owed them money. I felt so embarrassed. It turned out we hadn’t paid for the bottle of still water (that we thought was part of our breakfast) In my opinion I thought it was so unprofessional for such a hotel. Read less

We stayed at the Hotel for a total of 9 days and were very impressed with all aspects of the facility. The suites are very big and spacious, the spa very reasonably priced and an excellent experience, the breakfasts were very good and the restaurant is excellent. There is a bar, balcony and pool on the 4th floor, which I also enjoyed. It is a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and there are guards strategically placed to be able to watch for tourists. We did not have any problems at all while there, but did not walk after dark. The hop on hop off buses go right by the hotel. Read less

Stayed in June in room 915. Very clean, modern and quiet. The view from the window was towards the dock. Check in was easy, staff were very friendly and informative. Spent an afternoon in the spa… excellent. Couples massage and relaxation. Parking was included and had security. All in all, I would recommend and stay there again

I visited the Onyx spa with my wife and what an experience. The spa is neat and clean and the gowns and towels of a high quality. The staff were very professional and knows exactly what to do. A big applouse to the spa management and team. Well done
