The hotel

A home away from home? This is that and more. With a sophisticated, sleek interior that’s infused with South African vibrancy, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the city – just opposite the Convention Centre if you’re here for business, but also just steps from bars, restaurants and attractions if you’re here for fun. Whichever room type you pick you’ll find yourself with ample space, and a fully equipped kitchenette to cook up a storm. Whilst you’ll feel like you’re in your own apartment, the concierge are on hand downstairs for whatever you need. And if you don’t feel like using your own facilities, the Asian tapas restaurant on the ground floor is definitely worth a visit. And if you fancy an aperitif, head up to the 4th floor to enjoy a cocktail with stunning views of Table Mountain. Of course you’ll also have to find time in your schedule for a dip in the pool which has both indoor and outdoor sections – perfect whatever the weather! And we haven’t even mentioned the spa…

One Bedroom Apartments range from 46 to 66 sqm, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the bedroom, which has 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Deluxe One Bedroom Apartments have stunning Cape Town views, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 people. 

Two Bedroom Apartments range from 77 to 102 sqm, with two bathrooms, and the lounge/dining area and kitchenette are separate to the two bedrooms, one of which has 1 king-size bed, and the other has twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

Deluxe Two Bedroom Apartments have stunning mountain views from the balcony, with 1 king-size bed and twin beds, sleeping maximum 4 people.

This is the second time i stay at the Onyx. its conveniently located and the location is accessible easily. Clean rooms, fast and responsive service and staff. Nothing to complain about also the rooms are spacious and well furnished. The breakfast provides excellent variety and they can customize your requests .

Our experience at the hotel was delightful while visiting for the Cape Town Marathon. The staff members like Randall and Amy were exceptionally courteous and made extra efforts to ensure we had a wonderful time. The room was clean, spacious and affordable. I would strongly suggest staying at this hotel.

Looked for ages for a reputable and comfortable hotel. Pleased to say we booked the right hotel. After checking in and being given a room on floor 4 I was a little skeptical given it was located above the bar/pool, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. The one exception is the lift bell..we were located right by the lifts. Literally every button press to call the lift or arrival to the floor was presented with this bell noise, completely unnecessary especially at 3am in the morning - please turn this off! Breakfast was not clear, we were given menus with prices - despite having a buffet breakfast included - of course there was no cooked food in the buffet. Without clarifying the menu we assumed there was additional charge but at checkout we weren't asked to pay anything so assume it was all included - sneaky! Why not tell your guests the breakfast ala carte is complimentary in the room rate? Everything else was spot on, comfortable and rooms well serviced. Housekeeping did a great job and despite a small safe in the room, our larger equipment was never at risk like some other reviews have suggested. The beds were comfortable and I had a nice sleep, would recommend to all. Read less
