I only have 2 issues with the hotel. My husband is a platinum member and when we booked you could clearly see that we are 2 adults and 2 children. We were given 2 separate rooms. I cannot understand why the staff could not think or ask us if we would prefer a room with an interlinking door? And the second is that they do not cater for gluten or… Read more
I only have 2 issues with the hotel. My husband is a platinum member and when we booked you could clearly see that we are 2 adults and 2 children. We were given 2 separate rooms. I cannot understand why the staff could not think or ask us if we would prefer a room with an interlinking door? And the second is that they do not cater for gluten or lactose intolerant guests. In their defence they did try and help but the local pick n pay didn’t have any and the Woolworths and checkers was too far for them. I should have asked for this in advance but being a Protea I thought that they would have been prepared as they were in joburg. But otherwise the hotel was clean and very comfortable. An absolute pleasure. Staff were friendly and lovely. Read less

Rooms are superbly decorated with State of the Art equipment and super comfortable beds to rest for a good nights sleep. All the staff are very well trained and the courtesy to attend to all your needs is just phenomenal and nowadays rare to find. We'll definitely visit again and would highly recommend the Protea Hotel to friends and family as well as anyone looking for an extremely clean & looked after, well priced and friendly place to spend quality time away from home.
